  1. Great post Brad! Thoroughly enjoyed. You old folks shouldn't be embarrassed to play video games still. It's quite normal now. Good God, I hope this is a joke.
  2. IE10 follows HTML standards as good as any browser. It's actually pretty excellent. That said, the site has looks great of FF. I haven't been able to use IE much yet.
  3. Make Thome the 3rd catcher. BOOM. Problem solved. Can't be any worse than Lecroy was. I thought Boggs was pretty terrible at CF? Not sure he's a good option.
  4. I am absolutely fine with Escobar as a utility man. Especially if he can be the 3rd catcher. The starting middle infield is what worries me.
  5. Is Stanford still abusing the crap out of his arm? That's one thing that concerns me with Appel.
  6. He was very successful as a manager. He seems to hold statistics in higher regard than "instincts". Based on his announcing, he seems to have a sharp baseball mind. That's just my opinion.
  7. Ha! I was kind of thinking the same thing. Doesn't quite have the velocity though... Thanks for the article Parker! You are a treasure. It's hard to find this kind of Twins analysis.
  8. Man I wish Tom Kelly was still manager. Maybe he'll unretire next year... I'm glad to hear this. I respect Tom Kelly's opinions.
  9. Ok, sorry to get this off-topic again, but what the Hell? Where did you hear this?
  10. I'm pretty sure the Red Sox wouldn't take Blackburn if he was free.
  11. If Morneau has a big year, he will absolutely have value. I really hope you are right about Arcia. I can't stomach watching Parmalee in RF for too long.
  12. That is pretty fantastic news. The Twins farm system is head and shoulders above the rest of the AL Central.
  13. Impressive, thanks for posting.
  14. Seems like a very likable guy. I think the smart decision is to let him play in AAA, but I would love it if he just forced his way to the bigs this spring. The extra year won't matter if we give him an early long term extension.
  15. I disagree about putting Gibson in the bullpen. If anything, it could be worse. Relievers are known to just let it fly when they only have to pitch an inning or two, which could be worse for the arm.
  16. Yes, because opposing GMs are going to look back at this obscure local interview before the trade deadline.
  17. 1. Mastroianni CF 2. Carroll 2B 3. Mauer C 4. Willingham LF 5. Morneau 1B 6. Doumit DH 7. Plouffe 3B 8. Parmelee RF 9. Florimon SS This is what I expect it to be. I'd bat Mauer 2nd, but I don't expect Gardy to do that.
  18. Yep, he's definitely right about this year. The Twins will be just as terrible as the past two seasons. I'm still pretty optimistic about the youngsters though.
  19. The poster you guys seem to be rallying against is as good-natured as anyone on this board. It's pretty easy to just skip over his posts if they bother you. There is a difference between being snarky and just being an *******.
  20. Hey, I happen to enjoy Riverbrian's writing style. It's somehow...magical. And original.
  21. I just read this outstanding article about Earl Weaver and his "Moneyball" managing style: Earl Weaver preached moneyball before it became 'Moneyball' - baltimoresun.com Sounds like the guy was a great manager. Ahead of his time, for sure. Hell, most managers still don't manage this way. Gardy is the absolute opposite. I can't wait until that guy is gone.
  22. How is Joe Benson going to develop, sitting on the bench? Hicks has only spent one year above A level. If he blows Twins management away in Spring Training, (not just numbers-wise), by all means let him play in the bigs. But there is no reason to throw him to the wolves if he doesn't force his way on to the club.
  23. He is definitely worth 1 year, 1.5 mil or so. Do I want to think about how the Twins gave up Ramos every time he pitches for us? No I do not.
