    Not very good writing on my part. I'm saying that even if you consider Dozier to be a marginally more valuable ball player, his new contract (here or elsewhere) next year will almost certainly make Escobar look like an even more exceptional value to the franchise.

    Unless there's next to no market for Dozier elsewhere next year, Escobar's value per dollar will surpass Dozier's by a huge amount.

    Especially by Dozier. Calling a team meeting and losing is right up there with dedicating a game to an injured teammate and losing.

    It's hard to look good backing up a defensive wiz like Buxton, but I'm starting to think Lamarre's mediocrity in center field could stand out for any team.

    How many more plate appearances does Lamarre need to set the MLB record for PA's without an extra base hit? If the Twins' season tanks further, that's the kind of record pursuit I could get behind.

    Not sure how Escobar can get enough extension to even get the bat on the ball when it's that low and away, let alone pull it with enough power to reach the fence. It's kind of like his shoulders unhinge like snakes that can swallow huge stuff by detaching their upper and lower jaws. He might be more fun to watch than any other Twins player in the past few years who is not one of the team's stars.

    Yes. The Twins emerged from Dozier's team meeting this afternoon without a single broken nose or missing tooth. Any good that comes from the actual game is just gravy on top of that.

    Gamecast only tonight for me here on the road. For some reason only Dozier, Rosario and Escobar have their first initial between their last name and their position abbreviation on the lineup card.     The important thing is that Odor managed to compress 120 bad pitches' worth of futility into just 92, so... efficiency!

    Also a metaphor for the Twins' season so far... Oh well, the thread was fun, the Twins made a game of it, and they wrapped it up before midnight, so it could have been worse....
