    Last night provided plenty of evidence that he's working on this, as well. Having seen how he adjusts, and then how pitchers adjust to his adjustments, it's fair to say we are not looking at the final product yet.

    A repeat lesson that never gets old - walks kill. The man found something today - 6 IP, no runs, 1 hit, 1 BB, 9 SO. Whatever brought this about (maybe he's redirecting that energy?), he should do more of it.

    Amending the previous post in light of the IL announcement - I am worried about Byron Buxton being hurt. Worried about Mitch Garver and Luis Arraez, as well. Miguel Sano is playing his heart out at first base. He wants to excel, and if he succeeds we will have our Kent Hrbek for the '20s. I remain disappointed in no one. Win Twins!

    Were we in another era, under another manager, you might have been able to hear something like this from the other side of a locked clubhouse door: SFX: varnished hardwoods falling on tile floor, loud cursing, towel snapping "This is a simple game. You hit the ball, you catch the ball, you throw the ball." On the lighter side: Hands up - who loves Sano at first? Talk amongst yourselves.Give Vargas a gold star for noticing that Hiura hadn't left the batter's box (was Hiura mistakenly thinking 'infield fly rule'...?)

    Great job again today moving runners over and across. Shows a perceptible shift in management's attitude toward winning. Time to get brutally honest about Taylor Rogers' prospects as a true closer. The Twins need to go shopping. An objective look at this soon in a different part of this forum. Another silver lining - Mitch Garver proved he can play first. ;-)

    Nice work. The graphs really say it all - the two black spots merged into one, and their center moved lower and further inside, but still well in the strike zone. Pitching coaches were paying attention, and so far this year the pitchers have good command against him. Our man went three for six (one off Gyorko) today, scoring twice but sadly contributing no RBI. No shortage of confidence from Rocco in sending him out to lead off today after 1-for-4 with 3 SO yesterday's disaster. Now hitting .167/.280/.238 in 50 PAs, just 2 RBI, 1 XBH. Really hope Levine is right and the guy finds himself during this home stand.

    As of 10 August, the AL slash line in 574 PAs is .229/.309/.394. Apparently whatever ails our offense is rather widely shared...

    The Twins lineup still has not been able to get going. Runners left on base in past four days: 6 Aug: 77 Aug: 68 Aug: 69 Aug: 7Rocco and the pitching staff have a few things to answer for, but the batters (no exceptions) need to regain their form and learn from how the Royals throwers worked them. It is no longer 2019.

In fairness, most normal human beings don’t celebrate signing backup catchers." This. Jason Castro was a fine catcher and all-around contributor on the 2019 squad. If he had to be replaced, the Twins couldn't do much better than Avila to keep from missing a beat.

    Once my eyes got done rolling I went back to read the article carefully. Very nice use of statistics and location data to identify why Dobnak is what he is now and forecast what he could become. Would be nice to see what he makes of another crack and the Yankees in the postseason this year.

    The Twins are riding with Arraez as a starter this year. That will not change unless he completely implodes or gets hurt. Either way, there are plenty of players who can fill in. Please try doing three things differently: Less hand-wringing when only 12 games have been played (yes, even though 20% of the schedule is now over)Look at how he is being pitched to and defended in new waysExpect that everything will _not_ pick up exactly where it left off last season
