  1. The contact play and using bulk pitchers are the dumbest strategies of this team ... among others.
  2. Fly ball fell just in front of the RF, and Outman had to hold up to see if it was caught. Fitgerald hustled to 2nd on the relay. It wasn't really a double.
  3. Supposedly Nashville and Salt Lake City are the leaders in the clubhouse to get the expansion teams -- one "eastern" team and one "western" team to balance things out.
  4. Good post, with the key point for me being that it has taken the FO until recenty to pivot to a different philosophy. The success (at least during the regular season) of 2019 was a long time ago.
  5. Heard Ty France (8 hits in his last 19 ABs) say that the Toronto hitting coach had him lower his hands as soon as he was traded to the Jays. Hmm.
  6. I hope we jettison this bulk pitcher nonsense next season.
  7. Yankees are -215 to win, the highest odds of any MLB team tonight.
  8. Agree there would have to be a floor and a cap. But they can't be so far apart that the Pirates can still spend $100 million on payroll and the Dodgers can spend $300 million. I have no idea how you get the small markets to agree to a certain floor and large markets to agree to a certain cap. And of course the players don't want a cap at all. It's a mess.
  9. I lost count of the mistakes the Twins made in that inning. I guess that's why they are 3-7 in extras.
  10. Hard to understand Sands throwing a 2-strike curveball to a power hitting lefty.
  11. The Twins getting rid of Correa and seemingly improving reminds me of Bill Simmons' "Ewing Theory": https://www.espn.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/010509a
  12. Twins hitting the ball where it's pitched. Usually a foreign concept.
  13. Gavin WIlliams is through 7 innings of no-hit ball. At 97 pitches. Probably doesn't get the 8th.
  14. Keaschall with a brain cramp there with no tag up.
  15. Tigers were sitting on the change-up that inning. Ohl is going to need another pitch.
  16. Twins playing .667 ball since August 2nd. 🙄
  17. Put it in a glass dish, cover it with Saran. Comes out great.
  18. Interesting note from Jeff Passan (ESPN): "The Red Sox were willing to part with a number of high-end prospects to land right-hander Joe Ryan from the Minnesota Twins. But that wasn't expressed until the deadline was nearing, and the Twins were so deep in other talks to disassemble their roster, the prospect of moving Ryan had lost appeal."
  19. This "new look" bullpen is the "I can't look" bullpen.
  20. Alan Roden is a lefthand hitting LFer. Seems like we have a few of those already.
  21. FWIW, trade grades: https://www.si.com/mlb/jhoan-duran-trade-grades-phillies-address-roster-biggest-need
