  1. I was planning on writing more, but you covered it so perfectly I don't have to. This is 100% the truth.
  2. So you don't care about the game living on in the future and your grandchildren and their children being able to watch? Because if they don't make changes this league will die.
  3. Wish I could get a MLB.tv refund. Honestly I think it's just time for me to stop watching. It'll get better at some point, but it's not going to get better enough to matter this season. It sucks but that's the truth. Too many good teams in the AL. The wild cards will likely be at 90-95 wins.
  4. Always fun to see multiple missed play balls lead to runs, then the top of the lineup is up with the players who caused the misplays also up and they go down 1-2-3 to an awful pitcher.
  5. Well Donaldson has given up and is happily taking his money.
  6. I don't have any stats to show this, but does it just seem like Donaldson has done most of his damage in garbage time (usually when they're down so much it doesn't matter)? He continues to fail in big spots early in the game and late when the game is on the line. For someone who was supposed to be so clutch he hasn't had a single clutch moment yet (as far as I remember)
  7. The twins looked like a bunch of whiny cry babies. I will always be a Twins fan, but this wasn’t a good look for any of them. These unwritten rules are ridiculous and the twins players and coaches showed they have very thin skin and are worrying about the wrong things in an awful season so far.
  8. I love watching Arraez hit righties but he’s only the number 1 valuable trade asset right now because of team control. I doubt he’d bring back as much as many think he would. While he plays a lot of positions he doesn’t play any overly well, he’s basically unplayable vs lefties. Idk why twins writers overvalue him so much.
  9. I think he's referring to the the drop in production from the Twins bats overall since Rowson left. Varela has to go.
  10. I had flashbacks to 09 when they led the A’s 13-2 or something like that and blew it in the 8th and 9th
  11. This team is cooked. Players aren’t playing well but how can you take Donaldson out with Colome on the mound? Doesn’t strike anyone out and need the defense. I doubt blankenhorn is any faster and he has no mlb experience. Fans are heckling all game. He’s likely nervous as can be. Just a recipe for disaster. I said it aloud the moment I saw it happen and it lost the game. Rocco has to stop getting cute or he has to go.
  12. Yankees fans have always been childish. Nothing new here
  13. So Nelson Cruz at 41 can tough out a leg injury while completely hobbled, but Arraez, Buxton, Sano, Donaldson cannot...
  14. Diekman came in and just threw straight fastballs down the middle and cruised until Astudillos near hit
  15. Good read, thanks for this. I enjoyed this blurb from the article and this is what I agreed with from day 1. “There’s a balance between rest and performance,” says Brandon McDaniel, major league strength coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers, “Baseball is a highly skilled sport that doesn’t rely on raw athletic abilities like running and jumping.” According to McDaniel too much rest can take a player out of rhythm and increase the risk of injury because the body hasn’t developed the tolerance needed to handle 9 innings. “The most important thing to do (to avoid injury and maintain performance) is to maintain the rhythm,” Baseball, especially hitting is more about rhythm than anything. Example: Sano vs Buxton right now. I played sports all 3 seasons in High School and one sport in college. While I played games/competed less frequently, I practiced daily. High School and College players never received days off. The best players played. While I think we all agree that baseball takes as much or more talent than other sports, it's not physically taxing for people who don't pitch. I simply don't agree with the amount of days off the position players receive. If they aren't 100%, they don't play. Banged up players play in other sports all the time. Why does Rocco feel like any amount of soreness requires days off in Baseball?
  16. Oh boy Can't wait to see Lewis Thorpe pitch to Ohtani, Trout and Rendon tomorrow! Maybe Riddle and Astudillo can bat 1,2 since Buxton, Donaldson and Cruz likely need days off tomorrow. Ripken only played 2,632 straight, but Rocco knows all.
  17. Obviously it’s early and Donaldson is out but Arraez might take Polanco’s job as starter soon. Gotta get Polanco out of the 2 spot also. It’s like he’s trying to erase Arraez’ hits and walks with double play grounders. He just seems to have lost all the pop in his bat that he had in 2019. He had great hitters counts all day and then swings at bad pitches and hits them weakly to 2nd.
  18. Very fair, but the Twins are contenders. Are we going to actually miss Thorpe? Most of his optimism comes from him being a lefty, not his arsenal in any way. Thorpe being on the team makes the Twins worse. I'd rather have Dobnak on the team now then worry about the chance of Thorpe being a 4 or 5 starter in 2 years.
  19. Because he's a top 25 prospect on every ranking I've ever seen and Cave and Rooker have never even made the lists. Because scouts think he's going to be a star. Because this team has a window to win in the playoffs now. I really don't think that sending him to an alternate site to play batting practice is going to do anything for him as a player. Aren't we all just sick and tired of the Twins waiting to bring up all their prospects until they're 24 or 25? All across MLB, prospects are coming up and immediately helping the team out. Are there growing pains? Sure, but half this roster still has growing pains. I'm more basing the replacements off of their 2019 and 2020 performance. Odorizzi was awesome in 2019. Most players are acting like 2020 doesn't count. Replacing May, Wisler, Clippard with Colome and Robles is not ideal. I believe in Colome, but if anyone expects him to single handedly replace good innings from the three that left...
  20. The most unbelievable thing is that we're arguing about Cave vs Broxton instead of Rosario vs Kiriloff on a team that has been on a 100 win pace for 2 seasons. It's embarrassing, but it's the Twins we know. People wonder why Minnesota sports fans are so miserable and have so many trust issues. This is the reason lol.
  21. The problem there is no one goes down to start every game. AAA season is pushed a month plus. Does anyone really think Thorpe gets claimed if the Twins lose their case?
  22. Boy, this is frustrating. Good enough to start a MLB playoff game, but not good enough for opening day. I was all for moving on from Rosario and his lazy play, but that mean upgrading his position. Cave/Rooker are not an upgrade over Rosario. They're just not. Sure, Kiriloff will likely be up in a few weeks, but that will come after not playing any actual baseball games with AAA not starting up for weeks. How is playing batting practice every day going to make him a better player? The AL central is tough, it's not like the old AL Central with the winner going 86-76. They have to start fast or they'll be left in the dust, doomed to lose a one game wild card.
  23. Welp, now Kiriloff is gone. Good enough to start in the playoffs but not opening day. I was really hoping now that the team is good that they wouldn’t do this anymore, but it’s just their way. Handicap the current team to save future money and potentially help the future team. This off-season the twins have replaced Rosario, Odorizzi, May, Wisler, Hill, Clippard with Rooker, Colome, Robles, Simmons, Happ, Shoemaker. And the White Sox got way better again. Not good.
  24. Now that Kiriloff is gone, why not I guess. Kind of going off on a similar tangent here, but many people were all for replacing Rosario including me. There were glaring holes in his game and it seemed like a perfect opportunity to upgrade. Fine, perfect. Replacing Rosario with Cave, Rooker or Broxton is not an upgrade. I hoped that the twins would stop playing this service game now that they were competitive but I guess it’s just part of their DNA
  25. And just like that some good numbers today. No clue what’s up with Kepler though. He hasn’t gotten a hit since March 2
