    Wanted to throw in something Lavelle tweeted yesterday because I think he makes a great point. Also what does payroll currently look like? I’m not seeing an accurate number anywhere “Now, I believe this should be a year in which they push payroll. They still get more revenue from ticket sales than TV contract. Which is absurd. Crappy TV deal expires after this season. This is the year they push to win and leverage it into a better TV deal.”

    Arraez isn’t going to bring back any pitcher anywhere close to those players without significant prospects as well. You obviously cherry-picked one small part of my post because If you think Arraez’ batting average is going to net an ace or even a number 2 then you’re crazy.

    I’m pretty late to this thread but I just don’t think Arraez has as much trade value as people think he does. He doesn’t play a position well and doesn’t hit for any power. He’s virtually unplayable against lefties (one of the worst OPS in the league) and he’s consistently dealt with some nagging injuries. He simply wouldn’t bring back the pitching talent people would want. Also, fans would be livid. He’s a valuable player but average fans see batting average over .300 and go absolutely nuts. It’s 100% the most important stat to fans that really don’t know a lot about baseball. For those reasons I don’t think it’s worth trading him

    Thanks for pointing this out. Had no idea he was on the IL. Saw no writers mention it at all the past few days. Seems like most Twins writers have checked out at this point

    Does anyone know where Varland is right now? He pitched on the 7th and as far as I can tell hasn’t pitched anywhere since. Rocco cannot still be under the assumption that Archer is better, right?

    Career 5.4 walks per 9 innings minor and majors and he swings at the first pitch not in the zone. It’s incredible how bad he is in these situations.

    Number 8 and 9 batters continue to have the best stats against the twins than any other team. Gleeman showed the stats a while back and they had a near .700 ops

    Yup, Bremer was just talking about that one as well. I have fond memories of Kubel because of that.

    Watching Yankees fans rise and cheer with one strike to go knowing they’ll continue to cheer once the AB is over has to be so demoralizing. The twins have never and will never shut them up.
