  1. Donaldson only for a year after a physical. That calf will be a continuous concern.
  2. If the Twins were in the pennant race in September 2018 they could argue we would have brought him up for his defense, but, considering how bad a year he had up here we thought he should join us in the spring.
  3. Someone is going to get burned with Cole. He pitches like his last 2 years in Pittsburgh or has some arm injury. Someone mentioned Wheeler. Well expect a 1.35 WHIP or so in the AL.
  4. The odds of losing 13 postseason games in a row must be astronomical even if 10 are to the Yankees.
  5. I was rooting for you guys to beat the Yankees. What a terrible series. The AL Central is the worst division in baseball. If you get in the playoffs anything could happen. I doubt you would win 100 games in a stronger division, but, making the playoffs you had a chance to go all of the way. Good season. Only one team wins the last game of the year. Hoping it is not mine though lots of better teams to overcome.
  6. Not a bad problem to have.
  7. A few unlucky injuries like the Tommy John surgery for position player and an achilles tendon cut thst didn't heal well, but, the window is opening. Will you have replacements is a good question.
  8. I think those catcher's 10 years along with Piazza and perhaps Simmons 10 years because of their power-hitting would be ahead of Mauer.
  9. I don't think you trade 10 years of Berra's,Campanella's and Bench's offense for Mauer's.
  10. I hate the Yankees as much as you guys do. Glad my team has beaten them 3 out of 5 times in the World Series. But, stupid dynasty? Do you know why they dominated the Junior Circuit since the mid-20's? Weak opponents like the Browns, Senators and A's. Then expansion teams in early 60's. Yankees could spend to find talent. The Yankees went downhill after ownership cared less until Steinbrenner. Stupid dynasty? No, wished the other AL teams could have won the pennant more often.
  11. Good presentation. It's not where pitch hits catcher's mitt, but, where it crosses plate. The upper part seems like it should be higher.
  12. If Ryan could have walked 800 less batters in his career he could have passed Spahn for victories. The only concern is the extra velocity seems to increase arm injuries.
  13. Instead of the record 80-82 what about games improved +-? You would think with a new manager that other changes were made as well as coaching changes.
  14. Instead of the record 80-82 what about games improved +-? You would think with a new manager that other changes were made as well as coaching changes.
  15. This is happening to a lot of teams signing mid-level relievers. BP has to be rebuilt every year and you need a certain amount of luck.
  16. Looking at Anibel Sanchez's career he sure missed alot of games. 136 IP. Amazing how Sanchez can get him a couple year contract. Pitching is so hard to fine.
  17. This has mediocrity all over it. Has he ever been good? A 1.48 WHIP lifetime. Yes it is AL. You win half his starts and get 6 IP per outing you can be happy I guess. Why can't the Twins develop more young pitchers?
  18. He is always dear to my heart since he couldn’t catch the 9th inning triple in Game 6 of the World Series in 2011. He has tested positive for Peds. He hits 35 HRs with a decent OBP then you will be happy.
  19. There are few things that can ruin a season like catching problems. Your starting catcher is injured or falters and you can have season-wide issues. Pitch framing? I am sure umpires are aware that they are trying to be deceived. A pitch that is in the strike zone at the top of the plate, but, dips below it does it get called a strike when entering mitt?
