  1. Sickels is pretty positive about him 2013 MLB Draft: Round Two and Comp B Live - Minor League Ball
  2. Sickels thinks he could be close. "I love Berrios and he could be a Top 30 guy a year from now, maybe higher." Minor League Ball Top 150 Prospects for 2013 - Minor League Ball
  3. A .900 OPS from a infielder with good defense, why yes I think that would be valuable!
  4. The attempt in 2000 was more successful: Sean Bergman » Statistics » Pitching | FanGraphs Baseball
  5. If that site had the ability to search by teams it'd be amazing, as it is you have to just guess which players have scouting reports.
  6. Also, this interview must never be forgotten:
  7. I like that Harrison, Polanco, and Goodrum have been performing well. Definitely positions of need within the org.
  8. Mets did a huge disservice with how they rushed him.
  9. Actually pitching doesn't look that terrible to me: Worley and Diamond look like reasonable depth in the rotation As far as pitching prospects go, Meyer and Gibson are reasonable bets to be contributers to the rotation. Add another quality arm from FA and you have a servicable rotation with a number of interesting arms behind(May, Hendricks, Berrios, one or several of the former college relief arms). Even MI is looking stronger prospect wise then it has the past decade or so with Rosario, Polanco and Goodrum all being intriguing. I've always felt pretty good about Dozier as well. If Escobar or Florimon somehow worked out, great.
  10. Gameday showed at least one of those balls in the zone fwiw. The point is valid though, there was nothing good to hit in that at bat.
  11. I'm guessing it was a pretty tight zone, 15 BB in a 7 inning game is a lot.
  12. Currently it's probably Swarzak. I kept thinking "this is going to be Casilla's year" as well. I was also on Nick's Brian Buscher bandwagon.
  13. PC more please! I'll throw in my 2 cents: Moderation is too strict. I'm willing too concede that BYTO style (lack) of moderation might not work but its gone too far here. The chorus of people saying "I don't like censorship, but...." reminds me of the large number of people who think taxes should be lower but stubbornly resist anyone cutting program that benefits them. If someone repeatedly makes outrageous, silly, unsourced arguments I'm completely fine with them being called out on it.
  14. Lots of good changes, the site looks cleaner and sharper as well as less intrusive feeling ads. That said, hate how scrunched the forum posts are. Feels pointlessly small on a 1080 monitor.
  15. His splits haven't been that terrible against lefty's the past couple of years. He's not post-concussion Morneau against them.
  16. All I remember is that Sickels loved him.
  17. If Dinkelman can make the team Randi would be my choice.
  18. Love how you leave out Deduno's B/9 there, while strikeouts are nice, some measure of control is appreciated as well.
  19. Lots of question marks in CF, could see a slip there. Doumit was unusually healthy last year, could be the fact he could DH but I wouldn't count on him for 500+ PA again which could lead to some slippage at C. Plouffee is still very much a wildcard to me, wouldn't surprise me if his injury held him back but it could have just been one really hot streak of hitting for him. Carroll is old and could keep slipping like he did last year. Now this would be very much a pessimists view if I thought all this would happen but some of it probably will. Actually, going back to the health point, no one in the lineup dealt with an injury that kept them out for long periods, will that luck hold?
  20. The fact that his velocity went from 86.8 in 2008 to 86.5 last year is truly terrifying. What will he do?! I'll take the guy who only may have a bum shoulder over the guy who's less than 12 months out from TJ surgery. If Baker had an option on his contract that would be a different story.
  21. Perhaps I'm being optimistic but for me: 2014= 2000 Minnesota Twins 2015= 2001 2016= 2002
  22. All we need now is Mark DeRosa and this'll be an A+ offseason!
  23. Thank you ESPN comments, I've learned that WAR is not calculated, merely conjured up out of thin air.
  24. The hearts aren't red or pink, this is unacceptable!
