  1. You had me at 6 inches and footlongs... hilarious! I have eaten at the bottom 3 of your sandwich shop list. Your analysis was spot on. What's the deal with Jimmy John's? At first they were really good, but after a year of eating them once in a while, they became putrid... but the quality seemed to remain the same... bizarre.
  2. Thanks Craig. Not into seafood myself. I'll take your recommendations and maybe head down there in the next few weeks. It might be a nice event for taking my mother-in-law out for dinner for her B-Day with the family.
  3. I have been meaning to get down to that neck of the woods for a while. It just hasn't happened. What do you recommend at Shuang Cheng. I took a peak at the menu... it all looks tasty.
  4. One of the great sandwich creations is the Banh Mi Sandwich. You can't beat a Barbeque Pork Banh Mi sandwich. I use to get them from Saigon Express on Nicollet, but it's been a few years. I have a had a few on University in St. Paul in the Asian Restaurant/Food sector. The names of the places are escaping me, but they are quite the delight!
  5. Word up Vanimal, it's your #1 fan Bark calling in. A Nigerian Prince Huh? It doesn't surprise me as she told me a few weeks back that she met a new best bud over email. In hindsight, that seems sort of odd. I very rarely pay attention. I miss things she says all the time. If our marriage is on the outs, I'll be fine. I met this guy from Indiana named Jared who was making a promotional appearance at a god awful sandwich shop I was eating at. We struck up a conversation and he told me he could hook me up with a date anytime I wanted. I appreciated his gesture, but I think I will pass on that opportunity. People from Indiana really creep me out. I have not talked to him in a while. I wonder how he's doing? Twins related question: Will Sano break Barry Bond's single season HR record next year or will he have a sophomore slump and hit a disappointing 40HR's. Love the show! I'll hang up and listen.
  6. Not big on Cherington, but if Ryan retired again, I would take him over any of Ryan's underlings no questions asked.
  7. I hope it is the real McCoy. I don't know if it is the right thing to do or not, but I hope they give the 2 guys the 10% they are demanding in order to reveal it's location. I certainly am curious about the contents.
  8. The Twins pulled the plug on Mauer's catching career with him reluctantly agreeing. There must have been some very concerning issues and medical data. That could certainly be true with Pinto, but we don't hear too much about it. We were able to see the **** kicked out of Mauer for 10 years behind the plate. Pinto doesn't even have a year under his belt at the big league level and we don't know **** from shat of his past experiences. If Pinto is in the kind of position Mauer was in, only bad people would want him to catch again.
  9. I can see a trade fit with SF for Susac, depending on how they envision Posey's future. One of the pieces we would have to move would be one of our CF capable guys, with Hicks being the likely candidate. I am not sure I would be game for that. Angel Pagan is minced meat.
  10. If Pinto is not the #2 catcher for the Twins next season, there is no way he is on this ballclub next season. No way, no how. Saying that, I have not lost my faith in him - but he lost pretty much a full season. That is not to his advantage to say the least.
  11. It is August 19th. We certainly cannot go back in time. I wish things went differently and obviously they did not. Buxton is up now, I am excited for that. If Hicks' injury is not too severe, which it does not sound like it is, I am really excited to see Eddie, Byron, and Hicks play in the same outfield. It's a reason to watch, along with Sano's PA's. This year has been funny in a painful way. In the last three years, we all accepted the apathetic course of nature and joked about it and did not care much. This year was different because things were going pretty good, especially in May, and the week or two leading up to the All-Star Break. This team came crashing back to Earth in a way no one would want to believe after the ASB. The whole pitching staff is one you cannot trust, and the bullpen as we all know is about as bad as it gets. Really, really ****ing bad. At one point Dozier, Mauer, Hunter, Plouffe were all hitting around .270. Except for Mauer, they are all hitting .250ish or below. Hunter has fallen off the face of the planet BA wise and no matter their propensity to get on base otherwise, that is a huge blow. Not that I expect anything awesome to happen, but going forward, if the starting pitching can hold their own to some degree and the Twins call up Berrios and give him some high leverage reps in the pen, along with May, coupled with Dozier, Mauer, Plouffe and Hunter upping their BA ten points - and maybe Buxton goes on a tear... Maybe the Twins can have a fun and interesting month of September. I certainly do not count on it, but stranger things have happened. I hope that is what transpires. I just want to see some good baseball played by my hometown team this last 1.5 months of the season.
  12. I can’t say I am surprised to find out that Jared Fogle is a Child Pornography Collector and has paid under-aged girls to have relations with him (Child Molester). This guy is a sub-human and he is going up the river for a long time (5 years minimum – time served, not too certain of that). He seems like the kind of guy who will do well in prison… maybe a different kind of Subway Sandwich will be on his menu in the big house. I guess time will tell. Anyone, who decides to eat Subway everyday to lose a couple hundred pounds has a few screws loose. (1) I am willing to bet that his weight loss story is mostly a lie in a dietary sense. (2) No one, I hope would eat that absolute garbage on a daily basis, let alone ever. (3) To me it has been one of the greatest jokes of the last 15 years that this guy has been the face of the Subway Sandwich Franchise. I am left dumbfounded by this, and I acknowledge that weight loss is a huge deal in the eyes of our consumers in this society. How did it last this long? The first time I saw a commercial with him representing Subway was in 1999-2000. It made total sense to me, because Subway is one of the worst sandwich establishments in the history of the United States and he seemingly added up to being the most pointless spokes person to sell a product I had ever seen. Obviously, I was wrong. My first encounter with Subway was in the late 1980’s. I ate there with my parents and thought it sucked. That was no big deal as you win some and you lose some, but what would transpire in the few years following that experience was disastrous. The premium Sub Sandwich place in the Twin Cities before Subway hit the scene was Clark’s Submarine Sandwiches, that place was great! As a 40 year old man, I still have day dreams of eating there. Unfortunately, that cannot happen because Subway had run Clark’s out of business by the early 90’s and I am sure they ran most local favorite Sub Sandwich shops out of business around the country. Subway ruined sub sandwiches just like Dominos ruined pizza. I remember a time when Pizza Hut was a sit down family restaurant and their product was really good. Obviously, I have a gripe or two with Subway and for some reason after almost 30 years, I felt the need to get it off my chest. To me it is fitting that Jared was the face of their franchise for the last 15+ years. I hope it sinks their ship. Most importantly, I hope the victims of Mr. Fogle get the help and counseling they need and a healthy dose of compensation from this debauched, sleazy, millionaire child molester. Here is to hoping he is a broke ass bitch when he is released from prison. Here is a link detailing his crimes and some of the court papers from his plea agreement: http://www.vice.com/read/here-are-the-awful-crimes-former-subway-spokesman-jared-fogle-has-been-charged-with-819
  13. The concept is this: You don't need a traditional 4th Outfielder with Buxton, Rosario, Hicks or Hunter. You have a rotation using the matchups to your advantage. No outfielder would miss more than a start or two per week and if someone is going to sit, it should be 40 year old Hunter. Important to note: Hicks can play the other OF positions, he is not glued to CF. Also, you can get creative in the IF - for example: Hunter or Mauer on bench or DH, Plouffe to 1B, Sano to 3B, etc., etc... No offense to Robinson, but there is no need for him when we have those other 4 guys. Buxton could certainly struggle again, but he needs to get up to speed up here, take his licks and be more prepared for the 2016 season.
  14. I seen "An Honest Liar" at the Lagoon back in April. Really enjoyed it.
  15. It is the more sensual version of the term you are thinking of.
  16. Sounds nice, but I bet it would've been better with Waylon, Willie and the Boys.
  17. Today's game makes me want to listen to The Carpenters.
  18. My preference would be Bo, Luke or Uncle Jesse.
  19. You knew that "like" was coming.
  20. The real reason Japan bombed Pearl Harbor.
  21. It's unfortunate you resorted to using the words towards me that you have. I have always been respectful towards you. I actually have grown to like you over the last three years. You are a great debater. For all intents and purposes that seems to be your role on this site, and because you are good at that, I have seen some tremendous debates, but unfortunately, I have seen you take a **** on people and squash them for no good reason. If I said something something that was disagreeable with you, so be it. The fact that you would call me out as being misguided, naive, or stupid is disrespectful. I would not treat you in this same fashion. I believe there to be definite flaws in your code of morality, now and in the past, because humans that are right in their head don't treat people like that.
  22. I know I am going to regret putting this post out there. I have observed a few slight things that are forcing my hand. Very minor things, not pertaining to anyone's posts. The bottom line of morality is this: principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behavior. I think the term morality has been high-jacked by the religious communities. It has nothing to do with religion from where I stand. Freedom of Religion is a part of the First Amendment of the United States, I wish "Freedom from Religion" was also a part of that. To me, it is very important for the future of our country to fully embrace secularity. I believe it to be very dangerous to have laws passed that are influenced by the sword of religion. It is very disturbing to see what is happening in the middle east and religious extremism being blended together with fascism. It's a nightmare and a human crisis. Certainly, I do not have the same concern for our country as of yet, for the most part, we seem to be meek, when it comes to militant religious activism for the most part... that is a great thing. I was raised a Christian and left it behind because it did not add up for me. The majority of my family are believers, and I respect their beliefs and I am under the impression they respect mine and I certainly respect all other peoples who believe in a religion as long as it is not a detriment to our society. Being a person of morality is far beyond religion - it is or should be the code of humanity. The world is changing, and it is very important to eliminate religion from the discussion of law making. DIscussing Morals is greatly important... that is all we have. I have great doubts that the selected people we get to choose from when election time comes around have anything to do about morals or our overall well being. It is strictly about $$$ and continuing this grotesque system and using the weaknesses of their constituency to succeed.
