  1. Yeah, I can see that being their desire and it should happen. They went through some more than awful times and have done good for themselves. I don't know how this will happen, and borders will obviously be redefined. Erbil will be their capital and I wish them the greatest success. My admiration for the Kurds is probably more than any sect of people I can think of.
  2. No one did Mike. I was just checking my bases. Sorry for the confusion.
  3. If we lose them. I don't have the words.
  4. No, it is pretty blurry right now. I hope it works out for the best.
  5. To be honest, I have not seen these or read a post propagated by these people you speak of. at least on this site.
  6. I hope for Turkey's sake that Erdogan is removed from power and is replaced by a secular leader and brings the Kurds into the equation and unites the Turks and the Kurds. That is what Ataturk would want.
  7. Just think about all of the great minds we have lost because of Sharia Law... maybe Wahhabism Sharia Law is a more acceptable term... yeah, I am on board with that. Generally, I care for all people of this planet. There are so many cultures, so many cool and interesting traditions, great food, great ideas, great hospitality, etc., etc... As a human being, I know The Wahhabism sect of Islam is wrong, it is inhumane, it dictates that woman are property, it destroy valuable personal experiences, it kills the hope of being the person you want be, it snuffs out any hope of doing something fantastic that is outside the bounds of the religion. It is egregious, and I feel so awful for the people stuck in these situations. It is a flawed mechanism of that Branch of Islam and Wahhabism is responsible for Islamic State and Al Qaeda. Back to my first sentence: Because of this belief, we have lost many people who could have had a great and direct effect on the future of our species. Diseases could have been cured. New philosophies could have enlightened our minds as a collective, great art was lost in all spectrums of that arena. The common man and woman was enslaved to a set of rules that are not fitting to any living creature. It is obvious to see. It is not a riddle. It is against all the rules of being a humanist. It is obscene and a crime against humanity.
  8. I know I reference this guy often, but if there is a realistic solution/answer, he gives one of them starting at the 3:20 section of this video clip. Please accept my apology for it being Fox News.
  9. I just assumed as much when the news broke. As the western world goes, France has taken the brunt of this crap. That's is not saying that I dismiss what has been happening in Iraq, Syria, Turkey, etc., etc... it is all tragic. As an American, it does not take me away from our problems here at home, it is really bad, but defeating Islamist Extremism has to be at the top of the list of priorities. If this ideology can even be defeated, it is going to take many, many years and we need to get a start on it ASAP. I hope our Muslim Brothers and Sisters can take the lead in the fight against this ideology. This is the only path to defeating this disgusting menace. I have a hard time imagining that this kind of act of terror will not happen here again. And it won't be like 9/11, it will not be targeting a national landmark, it will be targeting a place we all are too familiar with in our everyday life. The battle against the Islamist narrative needs to begin and all of us peace loving, rational, and secular citizens of the world need to be on board and proactive.
  10. This thread is an example of why I swore off taking shrooms while posting on TD.
  11. Geez, the **** doesn't stop. If the Earth is a grenade, it certainly feels like the pin has been pulled out of it.
  12. It does improve greatly in the 2nd season.
  13. No, that is on par.

  15. Hey Brock. What are your thoughts on the Rebels series? It's grown on me pretty good.
  16. Don't let the Dark Side persuade you. I'll take you out to lunch and lego world at the Mall of Horrors and we will discuss it. I will buy you an action figure! Wait a second that is sort of creepy.
  17. Damn it. Email me on this. We'll set up the rules there.
  18. Jesus Christ. Don't ever bring up midichlorian again. Your life may be in danger!
  19. 20. The police officers being murdered in Dallas is awful infinity. Philando Castile's murder is awful infinity, Alton Sterling, etc., etc... I lived in the ghetto for a good amount of my life and I have seen the racial profiling first hand. I was in the car of a friend of mine, who was pulled over for no good reason and was treated like crap, he was African American. I watched it from the stairs of my mom's front entrance in the home she had in the ghetto and watched it happen many times... more than I care to remember. Not all of these people were innocent, but living in those situations you begin to understand why things went haywire. Drug addicted parents, no reasonable social plan to help the children of this mess and so forth. Common Ground? We are certainly not there yet. I hope we can get there, we'll see. We have seen 3 tragedies unfold before our eyes last week and maybe that unites us in mourning, confusion, and maybe chaos. For the rest of it to play out, I will wait and see. Common Ground is an empty word right now and there is a decent gap in between the factions. Big bridges need to be built. Do we have the resources to build them?
  21. That hits close to home. Switch out "Liverpool" for St. Paul and "Cat" for Dog, and I share your pain and embarrassment.
  22. Since you brought this guy up. I thought I would share this article about that guy's living conditions in prison that I read a few months ago and his complaints...WTF? To repeat myself, WTF? http://fusion.net/story/280111/anders-breivik-prison-conditions-lawsuit/
  23. As you can imagine Van, this is very good news for me. I would say it is a relief, but I knew I'd get away with it. The FBI... what a joke! My only regret is dropping the 6,000 dollars while getting untangled from the parachute on the Banks of the Columbia River. I didn't expect to live this long. I could use that right about now.
  24. I don't know. All the other abbreviations make sense, but I am going to have to call BS on this one. Something seems amiss.
  25. I know this is not the political thread, but I have gained a lot of knowledge from these kinds of threads. I always enjoy a good old fashioned idealogical showdown between Levi and Pseudo (although you 2 are not really that far apart in my opinion). Ben, Brock, Chi-Town, Mike S. and so many more add a lot to these conversations. These are weird times, and they can be amped up at moments, but I would have a hard time thinking there is a better place to have these conversations. I just wanted to acknowledge this and say thank you.
