  1. Intradivision games: With the change in the schedule this year there are fewer games against division opponents. This means that intradivision games have less of an effect on a team's overall W-L record. But since there are fewer intradivision games it means that these games have more of an effect than before in terms of position in the standings. Our favorite team is currently 10-6 against AL Central opponents. Here's hoping we increase that spread over the course of the next four games.
  2. If he can do better than any of the other 5 starters I agree. But I don't think he can. In the bullpen all he has to do is be better than one of our current relievers. I say bullpen.
  3. Only competitive balance draft picks can be traded, and not for cash, and they can only be traded once.
  4. And we proceed to score 8 runs. Funny game, baseball.
  5. Bad form to quote myself, I know, but it's the alternative to editing. I want to add that this is quite probably the best defensive outfield any major league team can currently field, and maybe one of the best of the last 20 years or so.
  6. I think Taylor, Buxton, and Gallo/Kepler (L,C,R) is the best defensive outfield we can currently field.
  7. It's not limited to just childhood books.
  8. I don't know if I have enough asterisks for this win either. This could have been a very demoralizing loss but it became a very inspiring win.
  9. I don't know if there are enough asterisks on my computer.
  10. ***** * *** **** ******* ****** that was just a horrible called strike.
  11. My dad was also in the AAC. He would have been deployed for the invasion. Tens of thousands more lives would have been lost had that invasion taken place. He was a lucky man. And, by extension, so am I.
  12. Too bad about Wallner. He's been en fuego the last few games.
  13. I don't think it has to be Garlick but I'd choose to keep any of the 39 other players over him.
  14. Contracts can be reworked if all involved parties are willing. Wouldn't it make sense for Reno to be the Las Vegas AAA team and Tucson to be the Arizona AAA team? Sure seems that way to me, but I'm not privy to all the inner workings here. In the meantime the whole process could wind up taking some interesting turns and twists.
  15. I don't think anyone disagrees that Buxton's value in any given game is higher when he is playing CF than when he is DH. But what the team needs for the regular season is to get his highest cumulative value, and if DHing him does that I'm OK with it. But when the postseason rolls around he needs to be ready to play CF.
  16. The day, whether it's tomorrow or Thursday, is drawing very near. Someone will be dropped from the 40-man. I wonder if Maeda's situation justifies moving him to the IL-60. If not, who will go?
