  1. I'm OK with Garlick until the upcoming small streak of opposing left-handed starters passes. By then Wallner will be eligible for a call-up. And don't forget we have Larnach soon ready to come off the IL.
  2. Three IBB, three pickoffs=3 outs, 0 pitches.
  3. I was told about an off-field incident involving AJ that I will not repeat here since it was third-hand by the time I heard it, but it did not cast him in a good light. Another thing, when he was with the White Sox I seem to recall him running out a ground ball and stepping on the side of the foot of a Twin covering first base. Maybe Morneau? I think he was probably kind of a pill on the field. All that said, I think he's good at being a baseball announcer.
  4. You may be right. Or, for all I know you may be wrong. Can you cite any statistics to support this point of view?
  5. I'm not going to comment at length because you can read what I have to say on the Byron Buxton thread in the Minnesota Twins Talk Forum. But I will say again that I am certain that every Twins employee wants Buck to play center field if that's feasible. I am also certain that every Twins employee tries to make the best decisions possible based on what they know. It is clear that people who are aware of all the facts have concluded that it's not in anyone's best interest to manage Buck differently than what is being done now. And, may I also say to those complaining that he should be managed differently: just give it up already.
  6. I don't think this map is correct. Among other things, I feel pretty certain that the Minnesota/Cleveland game will be shown throughout most of Minnesota and most of Ohio.
  7. Awesome to have a bona fide power guy. I know some feel Duran should start, but having that weapon in the pen is so valuable.
  8. He used all his foil to make his hat. Edit: ninja'd. Great minds think alike.
  9. OK boys, let's make Duran irrelevant. Score about 6.
  10. Call it an error for now. Can change it to a hit later if another hit comes for Cleveland.
  11. Apple TV guys talking about Hack Wilson. Find a picture of him and you'll see a body reminiscent of #34.
  12. Well, black is the new black. And I know you have black.
  13. I've said this before, but this thread prompts me to say it again. I think everyone wants Buck to play CF in every game for the rest of his career if that is feasible. And when I say everyone I mean every fan, Falvine, the Pohlad family, every Twins employee including players, coaches, medical staff, Rocco Baldelli, and especially Byron Buxton. Everyone. But if that's not feasible, then I think everyone--EVERYONE--wants him to play somewhere as often as is feasible. Determining what is feasible involves evaluations and reports from a lot of people, especially medical staff, with the decisions about how he is used being made primarily by the manager. I'm sure it's a complicated matter involving a lot of information that we, the fans, are not privy to, which is proper. So we have to rely on those who are in the know to do the best they can, and I feel certain that those who are in the know ARE doing the best they can. The other thing to keep in mind is that the primary goal of the regular season is to qualify for the postseason. If the primary goal is achieved then the secondary goal of the regular season is to be positioned as well as possible for the postseason, both in terms of which team(s) we would be playing and in terms of having players prepared to perform. So, what I will guess is that Buck will continue to DH exclusively for at least another month or two and that the approach will be on the side of caution. If our chances of qualifying for the postseason improve as the season progresses the approach will change. I hope and expect that Buck would be in CF for most postseason games, which means during August and September playing him in CF will be phased in. As for me, in the meantime I will not waste energy and emotion ranting about Buxton or Baldelli or anyone else, and I will hope for the best.
  14. Lewis is healthy, on the major league roster, and playing well. Kirilloff is healthy, on the major league roster, and playing well. Next season I hope and expect the same for Miranda, Lee, Wallner, and Julien. Larnach leads the team in RBI. Varland, Ober, and Duran are becoming anchors of the pitching staff. The pipeline is opening up.
