Other Organizations have basically stated we are trading 1. If we were to trade both, it basically means there was an offer they couldn't refuse. It is hard for me to quantify what is an overpay, on the sellers side we think everything is not enough, for the buyers I am sure they think Falvey is crazy. More and more I am almost hoping for a full tear down. Higher draft pick next year and a ton of prospects to rebuild the team or to trade away. Basically imagining a system that is deeper than what the Orioles had.

Those probabilities came out before the Clase news. It has been reported the Twins want to trade at least 1.

I like what you are saying, but if we get godfather deals, we could either run with the prospects or trade for veterans. Trading seems safer but we may be giving up on some upside. There is a very real possibility we are stronger team next if we were to trade all 3. A lot of things would have to come together but it is not at all out of the possibility they could reconfigure a very competitive team, with a loaded farm system.

With Dodgers seemingly down and out right now, more teams may see a window this year that hasn't been as open as previous years.

An organizations value is based on its assets. If someone is buying the Twins they aren't buying them because we have Joe Ryan, Duran or Jax. In reality those players will be gone in the near term whatever happens. However each player has a value. If the Twins can extract a premium value for 1, 2 or 3 players - then yes you could have a total reset and a massive increase in the prospect value of the organization. I thought the odds were low, and I wouldn't say its a guarantee, but I will tell you that the right ingredients are there for this to be a crazy deadline. With Clase being put on the investigation list, it drastically tightens the Relief Pitcher market. We hold the best 2 RP and the best SP available at the trade deadline. 1 of Jax or Duran being traded is probably 90% chance. Both being traded is 50%. As to Ryan it really comes down to how the org values him, and how much other teams are willing to trade for him. I think the Twins are willing to sell high on him. The probability all 3 are traded is less than 25%, but I do see a scenario where all 3 are traded in the next 72 hours, with the preference being we do retain 1 of Duran or Jax. However, If teams are willing to overpay and giving godfather deals for all 3, there is definitely a path where this team could look drastically different in the next few days.

Mets, Yankees Inquiring on Outfielder Harrison Bader
bunsen82 replied to Brock Beauchamp's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
Did you just compare a 2 War player to -.3 player and state they were the same? Both would be depth pieces though. If they can push you over the top great. Just think of the braves a couple years ago, when they picked up Rosario and a couple other depth pieces. They carried them to a WS. -

bunsen82 replied to Brock Beauchamp's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
Me preference would be the Twins wrap up a Bader or Castro deal today. If we truly plan to trade one of the big 3, you don't want a ton of trades going all on at once and something falling through. -
Who is New Minnesota Twins Prospect Enrique Jiménez?
bunsen82 replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
In theory yes, but if Detroit was going to overpay, I think it was more palatable to do it by eating Dobnaks contract. It’s just money. -
Who is New Minnesota Twins Prospect Enrique Jiménez?

My stance is you are better off trading or getting a Catcher in free agency. The Twins have affectively punted on C. You can find catchers later in the draft plus the hit rate on catchers is low. I really do like the young catcher we got on the draft last year but he is probably 3 years away. Continue to develop and find stop gaps in the meantime. -

A year and a half a very long time period. We have some catchers in AAA that could fill in but most likely won’t be anything special. We have options. We will not resign Jeffers. Let him walk and possibly get a pick for him or trade him. I am less worried about our catcher position than most. FA or trade are doable (most likely we will have excess prospects). Find a team like Detroit or the Orioles that will have some very good catchers being blocked. -
Who is New Minnesota Twins Prospect Enrique Jiménez?
bunsen82 replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
It doesn't need answered now. We can trade for a catcher, most likely we will that will be AAA or on the verge of MLB. We can get a free agent. If Jiminez does well my guess is 3-4 years from now, not 6 years. If its 6 years most likely he will be gone as traded or lost in waivers. We have 2 catchers right now. We have Jeffers under contract for next year. Its not a dire situation. -
Regarding the Trade Deadline, How Would You Answer This Question?
bunsen82 commented on Kirby Killebrew's blog entry in Kirby Killebrew
Yes we have a good enough to make the playoffs, now the question is will Ryan, Jax or Duran be traded or combination be traded. I am talking myself more and more into trading Ryan. If teams are willing to value and pay for Ryan as a top 10 to 15 pitcher and possibly overpay, that is peak value for Ryan. It also means you are most likely getting an elite pitching prospect as part of the haul. As to Jax and Duran my guess is 1 of the 2 gets traded, again to an overpay. So without knowing what the haul or prospect return is are they a playoff team, not in the current form. What you would have is the most loaded farm system we have ever had, and it would be time to start utilizing that depth and trading for more players in the offseason similar to our Petty for Gray trade. We may have a little more money for signing free agents, but our biggest currency will be our prospects. So ultimately yes I think we will have a good team. Correa has also never had back to back poor season, so I do think he does have a rebound year. I also think Lewis will begin to have more consistency. As to 2nd base who knows, Keaschal, Lee or does Julien come back from the dead. Culpepper will also most likely be knocking on the door. Outfield is where need at least 1 very good addition and most likely 1 solid addition. I think SP and RP we will be able to figure things out and put up top 10 performance for ERA again. When SWR is considered a fringe starter for us with sub 4 era that is some really good depth. You also have Priellip Raya and a Few others who will be on the doorstep too. Honestly AAA may start to get a tad crowded. -
Who is New Minnesota Twins Prospect Enrique Jiménez?
bunsen82 replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
It’s hard for me to understand how one team got a D and the other a C. That means they are not valuing the trade, just the players and whether they like them or not. On a pure valuation the twins won significantly on paper. The issue is most of the value is paper value (money). I value the trade at an A- to B+. As to Jimenez I made the comp to Vasquez earlier this morning. He really does have Vasquez build and everything I have seen is a very good defensive catcher. Personally I think he is somewhere in the 25-40 range of prospects. That’s an extremely wide range- but honestly we have an extremely deep system and he is still quite raw and unproven. I give him 25% of moving up the organizational ladder and making the big leagues. The million dollar question is will the bat be good enough. We can’t answer that question right now. I like his intangibles, I like his defense, but the bat will still have to be passable. A ball will be a massive test for him. -
Game Thread: Royals v Twins, 4/30 @ 1:10pm CT
bunsen82 replied to Squirrel's topic in Archived Game Threads
2 back to back rough defensive play. Even still overall I have felt the defense has been playing well. A couple nice plays behind Gray. -
The biggest advantage is he is already in the United States. As to what the current issue is I have no idea.

Could Joey Gallo Bring Hardware Back to Minnesota?
bunsen82 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Good thing he hit another home run today. Wasn’t sure I could continue to support him after that weak double yesterday. Lol, you keep reminding me of chicken little and the boy who cried wolf. This year I am seeing much more confidence and better contact rates which is reducing the strike out totals. We are now back to the royals who he has feasted on the last couple of years.- 68 replies

Could Joey Gallo Bring Hardware Back to Minnesota?
bunsen82 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
At this rate he won’t even come close, he may not even lead the team in strikeouts. He is currently striking out at 28.8%. It appears the change in the swing is helping contact rates. I didn’t watch last night but it appears his hit went to left field. If he can do that a little more frequently may get some cheap hits but also loosen up the modified shift even more.- 68 replies

Could Joey Gallo Bring Hardware Back to Minnesota?
bunsen82 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I went back and looked at box score and game logs and you are correct. So gallo has always been known as a bad ball hitter capitalizing on mistakes. Tonight’s home run was a good pitch. Low at the knees with a bit of movement and he still crushed it. We need to see more contact on these types of pitches.- 68 replies

Could Joey Gallo Bring Hardware Back to Minnesota?
bunsen82 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Was it, never caught that. Thanks squirrel. He has become even more of the true 3 outcomes so far this season.9 hits and 6 of them homers. The most promising stat so far is strike outs are down.- 68 replies

That’s not what the judge ordered. The judge stated 50% of the original fee needed to be paid up front paying for the near term rights. Then they need to negotiate the other 50% and whether any reductions are warranted, now the judge did state he thought 50% reduction could be warranted so based on the article I don’t think mlb or the twins have a ton of leverage. I would guess is the end mark is 75%.

Then after 3-4 moves they have completely moved the needle? Correa fell into their laps, it was an odd journey. However the Twins remained available, they were willing to take the chance but they also worked from a position of leverage to get a better deal than they were originally offering. The twins keep offering team friendly contracts. Buxton and now López have accepted, Berrios did not. Some players will work with you, some won’t. That doesn’t negate the value their moves tend to improve the team. You can’t always hit the big deal you need a partner whether a player or team willing to work with you. Things have lined up pretty well this year.

Potential Value Pick?
bunsen82 replied to Vanimal46's topic in MLB Draft, International Signings, Amateur Baseball
No Connor had already been out and healed. He will be out for remainder of this season and next. Similar to like a Sean Mooney with a little more pedigree. 5th of 6th round.
