  1. We actually had team that could have competed for some reason they could never figure it out. 😭
  2. Quite the delay on compensation for Beef Stew.
  3. I am sure we could always bring back Trevor Richards.
  4. Meh, this version of the Twins wasn't winning the World Series. Sometimes you need to do a reset.
  5. I would rather see if McCusker is an actual MLB player. We have done enough likely to punt the season.
  6. Send Wallner to AAA and give McCusker a proper shot.
  7. By math purposes he would have been worth at least 25% less. With 3 post seasons, really value wise maybe 1/3 less. We don't get this deal in the offseason.
  8. I have no faith in ownership to give the Front Office enough money to make this team competitive with contracts, so that means we have to win with prospects and prospect capital. It was clear this version was not going to be able to get it done. I actually thought this version had the ability to win a WS. Alas we are kicking the can.
  9. They think there are overpays right now for relievers. Are they correct. I think the Duran deal was good to great, but I know many have a different opinion. The Bader trade is very very good. We still have 3 very good releivers to build around. Jax, Varland and Sands. If one of those names get traded we are in firesale territory.
  10. Stewart is elite when available but he is put together with duct tape and old.
  11. Sounds ominous . . . but I am here for it.
  12. Brock Stewart should have some value
  13. This feels like a solid overpay. Need to get a few more of these.
  14. He has had a very solid year at AA. He actually started to hit a bit more, and more than anything a bit more power. Can he continue to trend up on power and become a 15 to 20 HR player. Thats effectively where he needs to be if he will be a hit first corner outfield. He has more stolen bases too at 6. Not thats is massive, but definitely shows he is not a plodder.
  15. Villario is 6' 2" 175 lbs as 16 year old. 12.2 SO/9. He is a lotto ticket but he definitely has some upside. Mendez is trending towards solid major leaguer. The bat looks good enough, power is gradually getting better. Speed is average, Hit 50 Power: 40 (hopefully trending up) Run:50 Arm is is a 50, defense 45. Overall 45 prospect, pretty solid for Bader with Villario on top. My guess is Villario is someone the Twins had been tracking for a while.
  16. Add in the fact he had played for us for a 4 months. There wasn't the emotional attachment of Bader.
  17. Mendez has 20 home runs since 2021. He is trending up though, 8 this year in AA.
  18. Villario 16 year old international pitcher was given 425k signing bonus. Mendez is the #12 prospect in Phillies org - .290/.374/..434 slash line in AA. Not much power. Is this another Gabby like prospect?
  19. Wonder if we go after Eiberson again LOL
  20. Jax talks still ongoing. This is the way. Curious to see what the payoff for Bader is. Outfielder and Pitching prospect, no names yet.
  21. De Vries has as much or more variability than Tait. Personally think this is a decent deal by San Diego, cashed in on a high end prospect for 2 very good players with years of control. To me this was a no brainer trade unless you were extremely confident he was becoming a star.
  22. The argument I would have is that the Phillies have over pushed Abel. The first year they have him repeat a level he drastically improves, with an ERA of 2.31 BB/9 of 3.9 and 3.2 at the MLB level. That level of control at the MLB level is usable. 5 and above is not. Yes I am using the current version of Abel and some recency bias but Abel is still young and improving, the current version at the highest levels is probably our best comp. Painter has an elite fastball, pretty much in line with Abel and better command. Really Painter and Abel are pretty similar. You want a hot take, after looking at things I really think as a whole the Phillies prospects are overrated. How is Painter considered elite - no offense I am just not seeing it. SO/9 less than 9. Whip of 1.36 ERA of 4.5 meh. There really isn't much difference from him Abel and say Matthews.
  23. Duran had just bit lest value than Miller, in 2 less years of control. The difference was JP Sears still has signifivcant value. Personally I think the Twins deal they gave up less and got more personally. Taits numbers are better than De Vries. There is a ton of risk with some increasing concern on the bat. Personally I think the calculator are off. Personal opinion is De Vries should be rated 35-40 which is about what they got. For the Twins I think Abel is underrated by 5-10 points. Just for comparison sake a nobody in Sears is worth 12.4 points while Abel is only worth 5??? There is no way that makes logical sense. In either case I really like the value the Twins got for Duran.
  24. Very solid assessment. I would agree he has a little more upside than Matthews and Festa but more than anything he added another option to hopefully find 1-2 more solid starters out of the 3.
