  1. Resting him from the plane trip to Oakland.
  2. Texas just beat Cleveland 2 - 0 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Teams try to win games in order to draw fans. Obviously, not everyone wins enough, so the teams need to provide other means of entertainment. This may range from a decent baseball team, to a nice stadium, variety of concessions, mascots to entertain the kids and t-shirts shot from a hand cannon. So, Gallo fills a portion of that secondary entertainment. People love homers and want to cheer for the guy who hits the 400 foot blast. Gallo fills that role, although not often enough for most of us. The average fan (kid or adult) doesn't really get that involved in the myriad of stats measuring Gallo's effectiveness. They just want to see Gallo take a mighty swing and send the ball into the stands.
  4. Think of it as playing musical chairs. Falvey chooses the participants, rocco plays the music, and the players find or battle their way to a chair.
  5. It's rocco's responsibility to give players the chance to excel. His line up selection, bullpen management, in game strategy are at his control. But he can only put forth opportunity. Only players can pull the trigger, so to speak. If Rocco can't strategize, he should go. If the player can't perform, they should go or at least sit. Very hard to do one without the other.
  6. I can't believe Duran makes throwing 100 or more mph, look so easy.
  7. Alright, now play this like having a ghost runner in extra innings. A little small ball, please/
  8. Oh heck, let's clean the entire house. The Mets may want to trade for Correa. Correa has already agreed to play for them. Dump Gallo, Kepper, Taylor, and a few others. Bring up the guys from St Paul and let's have a 7 week run to the finish line.
  9. "buffer" reminds me of the senate hearings in the Godfather movies, when the button man always deals with a buffer rather than directly with Corleone.
  10. A strike should be a strike. It should not be an evaluation. Either it falls within certain parameters or it doesn't.
  11. Bremer for the umpteenth time explaining the box we see is not the same box for whomever to evaluate. I have one simpple question, Why Not? We can send a man to the moon, but we can't determine how to configure a box to track balls and strikes?
  12. If buxton doesn't do something on pitch one or two to him, he's tough out of luck.
  13. Somewhere along the line Buxton figured that if Joe Mauer can be such a great 2 strike hitter, he can as well. That ain't so and it ain't gonna happen.
  14. Alright, Potatoes. Now all you need is to steal 2nd, 3rd, and home to get us a lead.
  15. I was reading the other day that Charlie Sheen may be the only actor to take time off from pitching in a movie. In filming Major League, the director had Wild Thing repeat so many takes of him pitching, that it was estimated he threw over 200 pitches over several hours of pitching. Sheen did not have a double, and since he played some baseball he was throwing at full capacity.
  16. or should I have said, a continuous loop?
  17. Well, I haven't seen where a 4 day all star break has done anything to change this team's performance, attitude, or result.
