  1. This is the kid I'm most excited about. Mid-90's without a max effort delivery. Even at 21, he's a "pitcher", not just a thrower. Tom lays it out pretty clearly what makes this kid good and why that makes him a top prospect.
  2. If all of this is intended to increase interest and attendance, teams should try making going go games affordable for families instead.
  3. He'll get to pitch in sunny L.A.. I'd guess he'll be just fine
  4. So by mid-May rotation is Berrios, Odorizzi, Maeda, Pineda and Bailey...with Thorpe, Smeltzer, Dobnak available at AAA. Like it.
  5. Let's see if I have this straight. The Twins will "have" to keep a 20-year old who throws 100 mph in their bullpen. And they now will not "get" a 32-year old SP is above average but was going to be coming from NL to the AL. Put me in the not-at-all disappointed camp.
  6. We got Donaldson, but let's hope the Whities don't bring back Joey Bats!!
  7. Um,....yes. It's baseball, you should worry about everyone not named the Royals or Tigers.
  8. With what transpired this off-season when trying to lure free agent front-line pitching here, I'd do any of those extensions yesterday to keep Berrios here long term
  9. I don't even think it's "roughly". I think it's dead on following it.
  10. Prospect are just that...prospects. But can't help but be excited about a possible 2022 rotation featuring Berrios, Graterol, Belazovic, Dhuran. Talk about some young guns.
  11. I'm surprised anyone at ESPN even knows there's a team in Minnesota. Why are we surprised they would underrate the Twins?!
  12. As a diehard Twins fan, I love hearing the names of the young guys coming up. However, you develop players to help your team win. I think there is enough depth here that one or two of the OF prospects should be dealt for pitching. Trading them is still a way to use them to win games.
  13. Twins Magic Number: 17. As in, 17 days til pitchers and catchers report!
  14. I love prospects as much as the next guy. And I FULLY believe in building with your own draft picks, esp in a mid-market like Minnesota. However, Romero provides a cautionary tale about them and gives a perfect example why the FO should be willing to deal from depth (prospects, esp OF organizational depth) to get that SP that makes them a legit WS threat. I'm sorry....with all due respect to the guys competing for spots, with the current rotation and SP options this team is not a serious threat to the Yankees.
  15. I'd guess the speculation that he's waiting for a ML deal are accurate. Would be smart for him. But if he can't get one, you know what would really be smart?? Come work with Wes Johnson and have the Twins lineup to support you if you can get back.
  16. You'd hope that anyone with his combination of size and athleticism would be able to make the transition to 1B. We have to be a little patient though...Mauer was as good of an athlete or even better and it took him some time. By all indications, Sano's work ethic has improved and that'll key to the move.
  17. Always a soft spot for the guys whose names were on the back my boys' "player t-shirts" when they were growing up. Great player, better guy. Looking forward to listening to him in the booth for years to come.
  18. Is LaMonte Wade completely out of this discussion?
  19. With the organizational depth in OF, cant help but come back to Larnach and what kind of SP a package around him would bring.
  20. After watching recent editions of Twins pens, I may have teared up a little realizing how good this one could be.
  21. I've got two thoughts on this. First, this 52-year old die-hard Twins fan wishes you all would stop referring to 34-year olds as "old guys"!!...lol. Second, there are 24 days until pitchers and catchers report!!
