I’m with Jeremy on this one, the “closer” role needs to go the way of the dinosaurs.

Another reason MOY shouldn’t be manager next year, Adrianza starting at 1st. Austin and Garver on the bench.

Rooker's K % has dropped a ton in last month, and his walk rate has gone way up. Hopefully he can keep these trends either steady, or improve them. If he can maintain/improve, he could be real asset for the Twins sometime next year.

Gonsalves is on the 40 man. http://m.mlb.com/min/roster/40-man/

He would still out as a 2ndLt coming from the academy. He may have enough time in now to be a 1stLt, but he definitely isn't a Captain yet.

Game 7 of the 1991 World Series was my 11th birthday. I still vividly remember watching that whole series. Two World Series, the pinnacle of Baseball, it has to be Kirby! I will say that the answer to this question will depend on when you grew up, child heroes reign supreme.

So, we take Forsythe off their hands, and the best prospect is #19. I'm not real excited with this return.

Jerry Crasnick is reporting the same deal.

    A dozen Dodger Dogs!

The are receiving Chase De Jong (#16) and Ryan Costello (unranked). Rankings are via Baseball America.

Kirriloff is destroying High A, could he hit himself into a brief AA appearance this season?
  12. HrbekRules
Kirriloff at Cedar Rapids 333/391/607/999, and at Ft Meyers 353/377/534/912. Obviously Ft Meyers is suppressing power, as it does for everyone. He is striking out 16.3% at Ft Meyers and 18.7% at Cedar Rapids. Nice to see him move up and cut down the Ks. Almost all of his OBP comes from hits. Would just like to see more walks from him, but that is nitpicking, he is raking!

I'm surprised with what seems like a large number of people's eagerness to move Lewis off of short, this is only his second season playing shortstop, and he is progressing pretty well defensively.
  15. HrbekRules
Seth, any ideas if Lewis is getting moved up yet?

How bad are the First Baseman in the FSL that Diaz made the all-star team?
  17. HrbekRules
Sano has been optioned, not to Rochester, not even Chattanooga, but Ft Myers. I think they are trying to send a message with this.

Twins just designated Petit, not sure if two moves are related or not.

I just got an update from MLBTR regarding this signing, it didn't say if it was a major or minor league deal.

    Love the game wrap-ups!

I don't see how Larnach could possibly be ranked ahead of Rooker at this point. Rooker has already shown he is capable of hitting at AA, Larnach hasn't. I'm not saying Larnach can't move ahead of Rooker by the end of this year, just don't see how he can be ranked ahead of him right now. My list would go: 1) Lewis 2) Graterol 3) Romero 4) Kirilloff 5) Gordon 6) Gonsalves 7) Rooker 8) Baddoo 9) Larnach 10) Wade
  22. HrbekRules
If Kirilloff continues to hit like he is, he needs to be up at the end of next year. Watching all of these other teams continually promote players at young age makes sense, and the Twins should be following suit with players that show they can.
  23. HrbekRules
    He was first.
  24. HrbekRules
    Great news!
  25. HrbekRules
Kirilloff sure looks like the best hitting prospect (not overall) right now!
