    In general, optimally I want to see zero left-handed bats in the lineup against a lefty starter unless they're Mauer-level. And with Taylor and Farmer on the same roster, I'll be very disappointed to see Farmer on the bench and Gallo/Kepler in the outfield against a lefty.

    There aren't many left-handed starters but the Twins will still face a lefty starter ~40 times in 2023. Do we really want Kepler and Gallo starting those games? I sure don't, give me Kyle Farmer every time.

    About six months ago, my wife had the idea "let's go to Applebees and only order appetizers!" Neither one of us had been in an Applebees in over a decade. It was a terrible experience. Terrible. If you find yourself looking across the strip mall longingly at an Olive Garden, you know you've made some truly bad decisions with your life.

    I bought a bunch of SRO tickets last year and basically sat wherever I wanted at every game. I'd sit in a spot for an inning or two and then move on to another spot. An usher spoke me to about it once or twice but never asked me to move. As for parking, the little grey dot (next to Cradle Club title) on 2nd Ave in this image is an entry point to Ramp B.

    I'm pretty much over Max Kepler and the acquisition of Joey Gallo isn't my favorite but going all in on "the best defensive outfield alignment in MLB" isn't the absolute worst idea ever. I just wish it wasn't built around two infuriating-to-watch lefty bats.

    He's had constant issues, can't remember the details. I think he only crossed 100 IP in one season... maybe 2021? And that was split between the minors and MLB.

    It is. I'm really skeptical of Ober being able to pitch one full season, much less multiple full seasons. He simply hasn't done it.

    I have no idea but given his size and delivery, I suspect a move to the bullpen won't be all that beneficial for him. So I'm fine trying run him out there every fifth/sixth day for awhile longer to see what happens.

    Gleeman has stated they have punted on the question but that could just be them assuming somebody is going to get hurt before it becomes a real option.

    In 2021, the Brewers were wildly successful with a six man rotation and would have done it again in 2022 if not for injuries. In 2022, the Astros were wildly successful with a six man rotation. Honestly, I think the bigger indictment of the front office is that they're not strongly considering a six man rotation.

    Ober has an option remaining, though, and it's unlikely all six guys make it to Opening Day healthy. Personally, if that magically happens, I'd open the season with a six man rotation.

    I hate the idea of moving Ober to the pen and suspect the front office feels the same way. I'm pretty okay with Winder going to the pen.

    Phil Miller reported that Twins President of Baseball Operations Derek Falvey said the bullpen is not a priority right now. The Twins did a good job of addressing the bullpen at the last trade deadline and shuffling some pieces led to the Twins being middle of the pack overall. But given the acquisition of Carlos Correa, Joey Gallo, and Pablo Lopez, this feels like a re-hash of previous offseasons, the last two of which has gone very poorly for the Twins in regards to fielding a good bullpen in the first half of the season. Given the availability of marginal but solid relievers and the low cost of acquiring one as insurance against Jorge Lopez, Griffin Jax, Emilio Pagan, and others, I don't see why this decision is being made once again.     Sarcasm aside about Joey Gallo, he's a good upside play but on a roster that still doesn't need his offensive profile. Trade Kepler and the Gallo deal gets a lot better.
