Personal Experiences
Back when Twins Daily hosted an Adopt-A-Prospect project, I chose Aaron. The two photos at the bottom of this player page are from that. I had fun working in a corny reference to his height in each game writeup. The page still seems to exist if you know to look for it, although I can't find it in the normal indexes. To save searching, here it is: https://twinsdaily.com/forums/topic/25500-aaron-slegers-2017/-- ashbury
On Thanksgiving 2015, I was visiting my son and soon-to-be daughter-in-law in New York City. We made a point to attend the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. I had a Twins jacket on and a tall woman asked me if I was a Twins fan. I said that I was and she told me her son was a Twin. I asked his name and she said Aaron Slegers. I had heard of him, but knew very little of his background. She went on to tell me that he had been in the minor league system for a few years after pitching for the Indiana Hoosiers in college. She told me of his off season training regimen and his hopes to get to Triple A in 2016. Then she told me that her parents were residents of Minnesota, north of the Twin Cities and that the family made annual trips there. Aaron's mom was joined by her daughter, also very tall, and we watched the parade standing side by side. She gave me her card--real estate in Arizona (last name wasn't Slegers)--and I told her I'd follow Aaron's career with extra interest.

KC 9, MIN 4: Slegers Slayed by Royals
Aaron Slegers faced 11 Kansas City hitters Tuesday night, seven of them recorded hits. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings and gave up five runs. That doesn’t give a team much of a chance to win a ballgame.
The Twins’ bullpen did a nice job getting things pointed in the right direction until Addison Reed had yet another bad outing in the ninth. It was a bad loss to a bad team, but Cleveland may have had an even worse night.
Week in Review: Home Sweet Home
A home series against the worst team in baseball was all the Minnesota Twins needed to get back on track and restore some confidence following a devastating road trip.

MIN 5, BAL 2: Slegers, Cave Lift Twins Out of Slump
If the familiar faces aren’t delivering, why not turn to some fresh faces, right? That plan worked out well Thursday night at Target Field, as Aaron Slegers held Baltimore to one run over six innings and Jake Cave was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a walk and an outstanding leaping catch.
