Why does Corey Provus keep calling Cal Raleigh’s 2025 season the greatest offensive season for a catcher in baseball history when Joe Mauer’s .365 season (the highest batting average for a catcher in baseball history) was far batter? Nobody challenges him on it! Mauer outhit Raleigh .365 - .247, had an OBP almost 100 points higher than Raleigh, the slugging percentages were a wash. It’s a blowout for Mauer and strange for the Twins broadcaster to keep saying that.
