Is Larnach nicked up?

Was wondering why no Larnach or Roden against Williams (RHP), then remembered that he has opposite splits (RHB hit better than LHP against him). Larnach is 0-12 against Williams, Roden 0-7.

Big Game - Need a W

Gavin Williams has stronger splits against left handed hitters. Therefore no Larnach and no Roden against the right hander. 

This will be the third time we have faced him this season. 

July 2nd was the last time. We lost the game 5-2. Larnach, Clemens Gray and Roden were in the lineup and went a combined 1 for 13. Only a hit by Gray. Switch hitters Lee and Bell went 0-8. The Twins only managed 3 hits total that game so it's not like our right handers were killing. In addition to the RBI single by Gray. Lewis had two hits including a home run.  

The first time we faced him was May 10 and we won that game 5-4. Larnach and Clemens were in the lineup and went a combined 4-8 aided by Kody going 3-4. If you factor in the the three switch hitters who hit from left handed batters box... Lee and Bell with one pinch hit appearance by Caratini against lefty Tim Herrin in the 9th. They also went 4-8. 

Which Williams will show up?

Tall order, going for the split against Williams.  Taj needs to be sharp! Lineup looks in pretty good order, maybe Martin can tuck that godforsaken ponytail up and lash out a hit or two today.  

Let's go boys, every game from here on out is a Game 7, after that stumble out of the break. 

Btw, did ya see who's taking his 1.93 ERA to the mound for the Royals today? 😅 (1.93 Era, and 1.50 WHIP!) 🤭

No place for Roden even without the splits.

Well I am calling a win.  You have Bradley on the bump,  a team that knows they need a win -  I think they pull it out.  I think we a see the difference in a team fighting together vs the 2025 Twins after the deadline.

You probably would have given up on this guy also, given his first three seasons covering 214 PA/192 AA;

.219/.294/.380 (.675 OPS, 83 OPS+) -0.6 bWAR, not to mention the hands of stone in the field, 9 E, .943 fld% in 53 games.

Has Roden produced enough at the major league level to take AB's away from Keaschall, that is the question.  Just to force him into the lineup over two players who are producing makes no sense.  His only opening right now is RF and Keaschall has been hitting.  If you lay on this cross for a player that can't hit .200 in 200 AB's go ahead.  I have no problem with him as a forth outfielder but not as a starter with the current construction of the roster.

Really big game today. Turning this into a 3-4 road trip going through Chicago and Cleveland would be huge. It claws back a lot of that All-Star break momentum we had lost as of 24 hours ago. And with a couple lower tier teams coming to Target field, it give us a real chance to get all of those good vibes back over the next week.
