the box/robot/pitch f/x..... whatever it is called, it is what is used to grade umpires. May as well have it call them if they are the grader.

Wait. Are you saying there is grading going on?

Except maybe by the two college students who do the twitter thing, that I don't know.

But MLB is not grading umpires from the box on tv

not the white box on tv, the pitch f/x system. the box is just a representation of it. nevermind. like I said.........

MLB certainly grades the umps, purportedly they use those grades to determine postseason crews but I'm skeptical.

And the 'college kids on twitter' (lol) use the same data MLB does - from statcast.

I don't believe I've commented on "pitch f/x." I have said the top and bottom of the white square on TV is worthless. Side to side, who knows?

The umpires miss so many leaning to much depending righty or lefty

I like bringing Thielbar in to face Rojas to start the inning but why leave him in to face Julio?

I had the same thought...3 batter minimum? Can't remember the rule.

I also like using Jax against 3-4 hitters here instead of waiting for the 8th and asking someone else to get these outs

gotta face 3, so if you only face 1 to end an inning and you get brought back out you have to face 2 more

If you finish an inning, you don't have to pitch to 3. You don't have to start the next inning, but if you do, you have to pitch to 2 more in that case.

But if you do start the next inning...do you have to face 2 hitters? That's what I can't remember.

Tons of contact off Jax lately....... a little scary

Yep. More than a little scary. Last outing he loaded the bases, too.

Yes, but if you haven't faced 3 and get brought back in to start a new inning you have to face 3 total.
