Very interesting considering where they were a few months ago.  Congrats to the Pirates and their fans, it looks like they have something going with a few core pieces and actually spending some money. 

Also interesting that the contract is very similar in base money to Buxton.  None of the incentives that Buxton got but basically the same money.

I think this is a better deal for the Pirates than Buxton's deal is for the Twins because of the lack of incentives. This will also make trading him easier, if/when the Pirates decide to rebuild, again.
