Twins=Vikings?

Okay, call me crazy, but does anyone else see the similarities to the Vikings in the Twins current situation (as early as it is)? They had a high draft pick last year, they have been pretty bad over the last two, they have had a good amount of production from a position of weakness the last few years (pitching from the Twins, secondary and QB for the Vikings), their players are having comeback years (Pelfrey, Harden, and Perez, even though the second two haven't pitched much yet), and their development of young players is coming along fairly well (not much of a minor league to speak of in the NFL, but the rookies did well this year and several Twins prospects are starting off their minor league seasons on a tear).

Nope. The Vikings minor leagues, aka college, produced three immediate excellent starters. The Vikings have a superstar that carried the team to points all by himself. The Vikings, thanks to the salary rules, spend about the same as the highest spending teams. The Vikings just signed a high priced free agent. I do not see any similarities.

You're not crazy (or at least not any more than anybody else who chooses to follow the Twins), and the parallels are interesting. I don't expect it to go very far, though. The Vikings made the playoffs; that won't happen for the Twins. I've always thought 75-80 wins was realistic this year, but we'll still lose more than we win - at least this year.

I too have seen the similarities for both the twins and the Vikings. So who knows maybe making this predicting by have the twins go into the playoffs will pay off with some major braging rights.

The Twins had one bat-flinging bad boy; the Vikings had a whole "boat load" full of them. Similar, yes (just not in quantity).
