Wolfson: Twins pass on Betancourt and Garcia

1500ESPN.com's Darren Wolfson tweeted this morning a few minor revelations. According to Wolfson, the representatives from the recently released utility man Yuniesky Betancourt (Phillies) and pitcher Freddy Garcia (Padres) have contacted the Minnesota Twins but the organization informed the agencies that the team was not interested in either veteran.

Teams keep trying to give Betencourt a job and Betencourt keeps refusing to grab hold of it.

 

I wouldn't be interested in him either.

It's a good sign. In the past, we've had more than our share of washed up veterans. There was a string of them at third base in the mid 00s, for example. I'm glad they are more focused on youth now.
