Tom Powers: Spring Is Nice, But Twins Won't Be Good

When even Mr. Powers refuses to jump on the bandwagon....

 

Soon there will be loud, familiar "thwacking" sounds as Twins hurlers report to Fort Myers and begin pitching to contact.

The thwacks will be followed by clanging sounds as Twins fielders attempt to grab ahold of those elusive baseballs. Finally, there will be hissing sounds as steam pours from the ears of Ron Gardenhire, Tom Kelly and all the other spring training instructors.

Calling a spade a spade is not such a bad thing. Much better than insisting it's a shiny shovel.

It's a rebuilding year. Hope to see some pieces fall into place.
