Bomba Tracker- 2020: 24- 2019 through 16 games: 23 Storylines1. The Twins get a bounce back start from Jose Berrios, some clutch hitting, and shutout ball from the bullpen. Consistency starting to build in the 2019 AL Central Division Champs early in April.2. It's a border battle! Although not formerly rivals in the same division, the Twins head north of the border to take on the 9-7 Blue Jays and close out their road-trip on a high note before an off-day Thursday and a weekend series with Detroit.3. Jake Odorizzi had a clutch outing last time out throwing seven shutout innings and picking up his first win of 2020. With a bullpen that used every arm but Devin Smeltzer in yesterday's win, the Twins need Jake Odorizzi to go deep in this one.
thuuuuney Provisional Member Posted April 14, 2020 Author Posted April 14, 2020 Sometimes baseball is a tough customer. The Twins have 9 hits, a walk, and score no runs in a 3-0 win by Toronto. The Twins would ground into FOUR double plays and take themselves out of rallies all game and get shutout for the first time this year. The game wasn't all bad as Odorizzi gets his #1000 career strikeout, but in a season lacking consistent efforts, the Twins are again handed a tough loss. After going on a five game winning streak from March 28th- April 1st, the Twins have gone 4-6 since April Fools day. After an off-day Thursday the Twins will host their longest Homestand of the year, hosting Detroit, Seattle, and Boston for ten games. Obviously we still have two games to play in Toronto but things are looking bleak for the AL Central Champs here in April. Homer Bailey, (0-1, 16.2 IP, 1.62 ERA, 0.84 WHIP) will try and even the series at 7:07pmCT tomorrow.
