Bob Sacamento Verified Member Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Player interaction of the Spring, while Dozier was signing a baseball card for me: Dozier: Do you have a fireplace?Me: *looking puzzled* No, why?Dozier: *points to my Cubs hat* Well find one and throw that hat in it! Lot of game action on Saturday with 3 games at once. I did get to see Wander Javier play a few innings at shortstop, color me not impressed with his lateral movements in the field but does have a strong arm. With the bat, I've said it before but he reminds me of a young Alfonso Soriano, body type, swing, arm, bat speed. Travis Blankenhorn is logging alot of spring innings at 3B and looks good and comfortable. As great as Arraez is with his hit tool, he needs to work on his footwork if he's going to stay at 2B. clutterheart Verified Member Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 John Mayo - Bald, no hat and at Spring Training? I don't care how much sunscreen you wear. Thats a recipe for disaster.
clutterheart Verified Member Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 I see Wade was in the AA lineup. Did you watch him? I have heard exactly 0 reports on him this spring.0
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Bob Sacamento... you didn't get me shaking hands with Kirilloff?
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 John Mayo - Bald, no hat and at Spring Training? I don't care how much sunscreen you wear. Thats a recipe for disaster. The day I got there, I went straight to the ballpark. Forgot a hat. Was out there for about 15 minutes before my bald head started burning. It doesn't take very long at all!
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 I see Wade was in the AA lineup. Did you watch him? I have heard exactly 0 reports on him this spring.0 He's very good. Saw him take a bunch of at bats. He's got such a good eye and a plan. Lots say he doesn't show a lot of power, but when he turns on the ball, he can hit it a long way. He'll likely start in FT. Myers.

I have heard exactly 0 reports on him this spring.0You want reports on LaMonte? I'll put together a video/pic collage next time I'm out there and see him. I've always loved his plate discipline and advanced approach, plays a good outfield, should rise quickly in the system

He is one of the few prospects who has high OBP with decent slugging. I hope the Twins start him in AA. He is too advanced to be starting his 23 year old season at FM Hopefully the new regime is more aggressive than the past one. Best case for him this year is he starts at AA and if he does well, end at AAA
