Berardino: How Friends Lured Belisle to Twins

Mike Berardino (Pioneer Press) chatted with Matt Belisle about his decision to join the Twins. Belisle mentioned that he heard from recent teammates - with the Rockies - Michael Cuddyer and LaTroy Hawkins. Hawkins has been in Twins camp the last couple of days and Berardino talked to him about Belisle too.

 

 

“If Cuddy and LaTroy believed in it, I know I would too,” Belisle said. “I still look up to those guys. I’m honored to have been their teammates. I think our ideals and values and visions probably paralleled each other. I didn’t have to ask any questions. I just needed to make sure this was right for me.”

After listening to Hawkins at the Winter Meltdown, I see why the Twins snatched him up and gave him a role in the front office.
