I miss the days where I could read you and Dave argue......... FTFY

Every time I look at these lineups Molitor is trotting out I wonder if he genuinely thought it was a good idea or if he's intentionally trying to tank and/or get fired. Grossman in the 3 hole? I feel like I'm living in a bizarro world

You are! It's TwinsWorld. TM by the way. A place where up is down, and down is where we normally reside!

At this point in the season I just want to watch Dozier (and others) crush some home runs. And of course I want to see guys like Buxton, Polanco, Kepler, and Sano make some great plays. Also, I want to see John Murphy tell off bad umpires.

If the Twins are crap tonight, you can flip on over to ESPN to watch some pre-world cup hockey. USA vs. Finland. I only mention because this tournament should be fun and ESPN does not seem interested in promoting this event in the slightest.

Is this like spring training? :)

And I too, am dealing with Twins burn out this year and tonight's lineup, only fanned those flames.

America's Got Talent much better way to spend my night!

PM: There’s not a lot that I’d be seeing clearly even if I were to focus on looking ahead. So, here in the interim … Look, I know people say, ‘Just catch Murphy every day. Play Sano at third every day …’ It sounds good in theory. In practicality of trying to compete, and give my pitchers chances, the people that are here. … It’s not that you feel compelled to play everybody, but there’s a lot that goes into those decisions. Like I said, if Sano plays 15 of the last 20 games at third base, how is that going to affect him going into next spring? I can’t tell you.

But I get that people want to see those guys, and that games don’t mean a lot, at least to the fans in terms of winning and losing. They want to just go ahead and ride it out and let ’em suffer through whatever you have to suffer through. It’s not that easy for me to just do that. I try to have an idea of what the feeling is out there. I know guys want me to try to win games. At what cost do you want to either stay in the moment or look to next spring? The problem with next spring is there’s not many givens. I don’t know who you’d say is going to be a lock right now.>>>>>>>. When I read this I thought, well after 144 games, and all the inside info you should have from being the teams manager, you have no idea what a plan is for next year, especially as far as fielders go. Even if it's just your own plan? I thought that somewhat odd? And then I saw this lineup, and it was all clarified! He truly doesn't have a clue for next year. We are seemingly going into year 6 or 7 (I lost track) of a rebuild, and we still don't have a plan?

Trevor May's out for the year. He was a total workhorse before he moved the bullpen. I just can't see that it's a coincidence.

May to the rotation!

Sure you posted this in the right thread??

Yeah, I know. But still. Why buy in just to not give a rat's ass? My best guess is that it's so TSN can carry it. But I'm not sure.

North - TSN still carries NHL, right? And there's no question they'd be covering the World Cup with or without EAPN, right? Not sure how it works.

Actually TSN was outbid 2 years ago by Sportsnet and now just has minor coverage, in fact other than playoffs they only have deals in two places, Montreal and Winnipeg, which expire in a couple of years. I don't believe they have rights to the World Cup as its an NHL event.

They pretty much just do IIHF stuff.

May has a lower back problem.  It's been exaggerated by pitching more frequently as a RP and throwing harder.  As a starter, he still had that problem.  When it got worse, the Twins gave him an extra day or 2 for it to calm down.

Hey, just turned on the game. I can understand why Grossman is playing since he hits right handers like he's the second coming of the good Joe Mauer, but why on earth is Schaefer playing? Any word?

There's a lot that goes into these decisions.
