USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Well, just like the losing streak, the winning streak had to end eventually.
snepp Verified Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 And I think they used about 96 pitchers that year. You sure they were actually pitchers?
snepp Verified Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 94 and 95 Twins had ERAs right around 5.70.
Platoon Verified Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Without last nights complete meltdown by the Sox with men on base the Twins had a chance to make history tonight. Now? Just another night at the park.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Dick just said John Ryan Murphy was swinging it pretty well.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Chargois looks like he should be singing lead for Soundgarden or Audioslave. http://archive.alternativenation.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/chriscornell.jpg

Platoon Verified Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Well, just like the losing streak, the winning streak had to end eventually.. You stand corrected sir! In sports, a winning streak refers to a consecutive number of games won. A winning streak begins with the third consecutive victory; back-to-back wins are only considered two consecutive victories. A winning streak can be held by a team, as in baseball, football, basketball, hockey, or by an individual, as in tennis.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 94 and 95 Twins had ERAs right around 5.70. Yeah... Carlos Pulido... You'd figure his presence alone would have prevented that.

glunn Community Moderator Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 I am glad that snepp is back. I am not glad about the way this game has gone.
Platoon Verified Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Dick just suggested that pitchers coming up could be told to cut the velocity for control. I wonder where he ever heard that?
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 2nd round pick this guy

operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Sano better work his ass off this winter! He needs to get in the best shape of his life. He needs a personal trainer and a nutritionist. He should go to a military style training camp or American Ninja Warrior style. He also needs to work with a hitting guru everyday. Then next April he'll be ready to dominate the majors.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 It seems like for these prospects that AAA is Earth and the Majors is Mars. They just start to choke and fall apart in the MLB atmosphere.

Winston Smith Verified Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 2 games up on the Braves now. Were still #1!
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 I am glad that you posted that. I will be gladder if the Twins score 7 quick runs. 7 Runs would be awesome but we will have to avoid giving the Twins any sort of deadline to accomplish it.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 2 games up on the Braves now. Were still #1! Better butter your cue finger up. The show will be a #1 draft pick and TD'ers hotly debating who the pick should be.

Well, TD posters will need grist for the mill next Spring, because it sure doesn't look like they will be playing meaningful games.

In this view a winning streak can even consist of zero wins. He can be forgiven for overlooking the vernacular meaning of this particular term.
