Today, a couple of the Minor Leagues announced their postseason All Star teams:

Appalachian League: OF Alex Kirilloff, 1B/DH Lewin Diaz, RH Patrick McGuff

Midwest League: 2B Luis Arraez

We'll continue to update this as they are announced.

While I'm happy for Kiriloff, I'm not sure that I want guys in the low minors leagues long enough to win "of the Year" awards.  Move them up and have them spend more time in the high minors.  If they're good enough t win player of the year honors, they're good enough to move up a level.

All that said, congratulations to Kiriloff!

The International League names its All Star team today. The lone Red Wings representative on it is reliever Edward Mujica, who has only been with the team for a matter of days.

I am a big critic of the Twins FO for keeping players in divisions they don't belong.  But in the case of Kiriloff twins handled him just fine.

He was new to the org,18 years old and had success.   Its a good foundation for him to build off.

Yep, I'm on the exact page with clutterheart. Coming fresh out of high school, Kiriloff has indeed had a terrific start to his pro career, but the Twins played this one exactly right, given that he's tailed off badly in the dog days of August-  re- in his last 17 games (68 PAs), here's his line:

.167/.250/.295/(.545)

As with all prospects, it remains to be seen how well he performs when he eventually reaches the upper minors, so far Kiriloff looks like a great pick by the Twins, but by the same token, nobody as of yet has accused him of bearing any resemblance to Bryce Harper.

Mujica had a 3.69 ERA with 6.2 K/9 in 39 innings for Lehigh Valley. I guess that's all it takes to be an all star.

If that's all it takes, I'd say that Chargois and Wimmers as fellow RPs have a reason to complain, as well as SPs Wheeler, Berrios and even Albers and Darnell.

Good points.  In general, I still stand by my comment, but I do agree that perhaps pro ball rookies should be exempt from that notion outside of generational talent.
