Hitting 104/232/104 in 48 At Bats, Ibarra has not done much with the little chance he's been given and now he's on the disabled list.

Well, Ibarra came roaring back from the DL. With a 273/385/388 line, Ibarra was promoted to Fort Meyers. He has not made his first appearance there yet.

Defensively, he has played only at 3rd base with a 936 fpct. He has committed 5 errors in 82 chances over 285 innings so he has some work to do there.

2016 Wrap up:

In his first year of affiliated baseball, Christian Ibarra, undrafted out of college, was able to play well enough to hold his own in low A and even make a 21 game appearance in high A.

CR: 125 at bats, 264/374/376 (750 OPS) with 6 doubles, a triple and 2 homers.

FM: 79 at bats, 203/267/329 (597 OPS) with 5 doubles, a triple and a homer.

Defensively, Ibarra played ONLY at 3B putting in a total of 461.2 innings. He committed 7 errors on 125 total chances and finished the season with a combined 944 FPCT.

2017 Outlook

Ibarra will probably spend the majority of the season at high A but given his limited exposure to affiliated ball, he may even begin the year in CR. Given that he is already 24, I would be surprised if they did not push him straight to FM and even try to push farther if he has success the first half of next season.
