Hit and run or steals are usually what you see with guys like that on base.  Guess not though...

Molly probably felt snakebit by sending Grossman the inning before.  'Oh, dang, better not send any runners anymore.'

LaBombo.  I'm really disappointed you haven't seen enough games this year.  The Twins can't bunt.  They haven't practiced that yet.  Love your input but really.... :)

Practiced?

Every game since mid-May has been practice!

Besides,   it's clear that Molitor won't be dissuaded from calling for the bunt or the hit and run (miss and run?)  just because of a little thing like the Twins not being able to execute it.

Because persistence!

Ok gripe number two. Mollie plays the infield in when the Catcher was at first. Easy double play candidate at regular depth.

Nolasco deserves a hand.  He battled his tail off, and doesn't deserve an L for this one.  Cripe, that one fly ball an inch or two back in Kepler's glove...

Da beauty of da game.

And da pathos.

Having one of the worst defensive outfields in baseball history continues to pay dividends for our opponents.

Hmmmm... I want to say that Nolasco shouldn't be pitching in the 8th inning, but I also understand that there's nobody good enough in the bullpen to hold the game.

Now, if the Twins would have signed a good reliever or two, we might not be in this situation.

Show of hands--  who predicted at the start of the season, in a tight game in the 8th--  "now pitching for the Twins, Brandon Kintzler."

Aggie - Thanks for the hilarious comments!  It's just not a game thread without your dry humor.  I laughed out loud!

The SPCO bassist owns and performs on the bass that was played for the Jaws soundtrack.

Um, what? We're talking tubas not basses. And there was more than one bass used on the soundtrack.

Don't worry.    Sasquatch will be off the DL and making more gazelle-like leaping grabs in s'no time.

You really haven't seen many games, have you.

In addition to the bunt and run, Molitor also has the Twins practicing the following plays:

- bunt fake out and swing,

- bunt foul (keeps fielders on their toes),

- bunt and force at second,

- bunt pop and retreat to first,

- bunt pop and not sure if retreat or run to second,

- bunt miss and rundown,

to name just a few

Have any of our pitchers gone 8 this year?  I think maybe one but can't remember.  Been drinking for most of the season...

On pace for 110+ losses in May?

Yeah,   I was looking at Nolasco's pitch count after six and thinking that even after only throwing 80 or so pitches any other team would probably be thrilled with this outing from NoNo and just take the money and run with the bullpen.

Twins look at the pitch count,  see anything < 100,  and out he goes,  until he runs out of gas.

I had a sick feeling in my stomach when nolasco was brought back out. Not that he didn't deserve a shot, I just had a bad feeling.

Run em' till they drop!  Ricky's shoulder is laying just behind the rubber.

Um, who's prohibiting anything? It's just typical of most threads on TD ... hone in on a singular peripheral and miss the topic all together.
