Though only hitting 235/350/235 in 17 At Bats in Elizabethton, apparently he has tweeted that he is going back to Cedar Rapids. This appears to be more about filling a roster spot than promoting someone truly ready but hopefully this time around will go a lot better...

Cavaness has raised his season averages to 231/307/266 with Cedar Rapids. Thats up from 190/296/220 after his first stint with CR. In his last 10 games, he has hit 286 with 10 hits in 35 at bats with 8 runs and 3 RBIs. Some interesting splits show he is hitting 264 at home vs 208 on the road. He is hitting 288 in day games and 207 at night. He is hitting Leftys at a 306 pace and only 212 against right handers.

 

In 475 innings, Cavaness has only 1 error. He has spent 2/3 of his time in Center but the error came in Left Field.

Cavaness hit a mere 201/294/237 for an unassuming 532 OPS at Cedar Rapids in 219 at bats. He has shown a glove but if that bat does not come around next year, he may not be on the team long after the draft. I expect to see Cavaness repeat low A.
