Gonsalves, Stewart to be promoted soon?

Well now it looks like the 3 top pitching prospects in Rochester have been promoted to the Twins. My question is with that shake up will that ultimately send Kohl Stewart and Stephen Gonsalves to Chattanooga as both pitchers have proven they are as good as advertised? Just curious since both pitchers pitched well last year in Ft Meyers as well (plus if Milone is out of the rotation Gonsalves is the best left hander to eventually make the rotation).

There going to give them at least another 5-8 starts, probably more. Gonsalves probably would be promoted first.

Stewart had another quality start tonight.  6 IP, 0 Runs, 3 Hits.  Only lasted 6 innings.  He threw 93 pitches with 5K's and 3 walks.  Seems like a lot of pitches in 6 innings.  His ERA is now below 2.0.

Certainly seems to be erasing many of the doubts expressed last year.

Keep it up Kohl.

I seriously have to wonder if both Stewart and Gonsalves will be called up to AA together. I mean Gonsalves is 2-1 with a 1.44 ERA and has 24 k's (6 walks) in 25 innings while Stewart is 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA and 26 k's in 23 innings. With some spots open and one possible demotion (Ryan Eades) and Gonsalves and Stewart proving they have nothing left to prove in A+ ball it is time for their next challenge.

Berrios, Gonsalves and Stewart were all born in 2004 within about 5 months of each other. Would make a very nice corp of 22 year old starters the beginning of next year would it not?

I think you meant 1994. Also Lewis Thorpe was born in 1995. That makes for a nice 4 man rotation right there.

I think 2018 could be a very fun year for Twins pitchers.  Nolasco would most likely be gone and not resigned, Ervin Santana will be in last year of contract, Milone will gone, Gibson the jury is still out on.

2018 Rotation Competition in Spring will hopefully be:

Hughes

Santana

Gibson

Meyer

Berrios

May

Stewart

Gonsalves

Duffey
