May Day 2016

Just how much am I looking forward to May 1 this tear? A whole heck of a lot.

 

1. Sano will have 25 or so games under his belt. Can he run down and catch a fly ball? We'll have a good idea by then. How have the pitchers adapted to his hitting? Does he still walk as much as he did last year?

 

2. Rosario will let us know if last year's production was real or not. Are his k's down at all? Is he possibly the long term answer in left. I hope so, I've always thought he was undervalued.

 

3. Buxton. Is he at Target Field or Rochester? Is he hitting Sano's weight? Is he still healthy, or has he tried again to make the highlight reel with a 2nd inning dive play in a mostly meaningless situation? I expect he starts in the bigs and is a very pleasant surprise.

 

4. Park??! This is my biggest question mark. I have no doubt he will be struggling. But how much? Is he striking out at a rate that would shame A B Walker? Or is he hitting home runs and struggling a little?

 

5. Kepler is in Rochester now proving last year was real...or not.

 

6. Have Mauer and Plouffe given any reason to think that there are better uses for their 2 spots in the lineup?

 

These 7 will put huge pressure on Twin's management to adjust the lineup. I can't wait to see how it all unfolds. Go Twins!
