Buxton will have to spend almost the entirety of 2016 in the minors for service time to matter.

 

Truth. There's no motivation to manipulate Buxton's service time at all. He'll be short of Super 2 status if he plays full seasons in 16 and 17 too. He'll need to earn that job, but in this case, you can throw service time out the window completely.
