Monte Irvin passes away

Irvin was one of the greatest players in the Negro Leagues and the fourth African American inducted into the HOF.  Joe Ponsanski had a very nice write up on Irvin when he was creating his top 100 players list.  

 

He worked for MLB from 1968 to 1984.

I know someone with an old Monte Irvin baseball card.

I've got a couple of them. When they put up the Ted Williams card set, he was featured in that set, and those were "pretty" cards.
