Maybe it's just another one of those riddles, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma...

Riddles are often better when wrapped inside a burrito...

welcome to the bigs rook

Bert borrowed this take.    Royalty check is in the mail.

When it's said we "need bullpen help," it usually doesn't mean coming from the other team.  We dodged a bullet there, thanks to the rook's mistake.

More baseball strangeness.

I feel a new Twins slogan coming on: "Minnesota Twins: Catch the Weird!"

Posted

Why were the runners at first and second moving on that play in the first place? Either the game was going to end or we were going to extras.

That was one of the wildest plays I've seen in a long time. Hicks's throw wasn't perfect, but the pinch runner Coleman was right, he was dead at home. That run down was classic.

Only if I can take a day off to get over it...  Would Claritin help speed the recovery?

In looking at the replay, I'm not sure the rookie would have made it even if he'd have gone.

Once in a while you get caught and there's no good decision.

Just saw it out of the corner of my eye, but it looked like he ran halfway into the stands to avoid the tag, but with no out call from the umpire.  Who says the Royals get no respect?

Just.... astounded.  What is... why Thompson.... Molly thinking....  Have to take a break now, circuits frying, face melting.

You're a Twins fan. Not quite as manic as a Cubs fan, but close. Fortunately, there is no cure, because it is the Twins and therefore completely acceptable.

I don't think Cain will make the same mistake as the rookie

Rookie owes Cain a case of whatever he drinks for bailing him out.

Bummer loss, but a little perspective never hurts.  If you'd have told me that the Twins would celebrate the Fourth of July in second place, fewer than five out of first, despite Mauer batting .260 and no help yet from Buxton or Sano, it would be a pretty hard sell.  And yet here they are.

Oh well.

Is it better to have lead and lost, than to have never lead at all?

Also wondering if perhaps the philosophy of loading the bases to set up a force might have been worth it?

Meh, hindsight.

Bullpen fails again but the offense does nothing, again. Shoulda coulda won this one.

For sure.  If he was even standing closer to the plate he would have got him.
