Reusse blog: Last Comparable to Buxton Hype?

I seem to recall a lot of anticipation for Steve Gasser and Jeff Bumgarner.

However, I'll go with the guy who's already got a documentary out with a sequel on the way, I think. Here's to you Miguel Angel Sano. And I sincerely hope you live up to every last bit of hype.

Any team:  Mark Pryor with Steven Strasburg and Ken Griffey Jr being close.

Twins:  The guy who was drafted ahead of Pryor...

(I think that Reusse is getting senile, if he forgot the fans' excitement about Mauer's debut...)

The question was relative to which "in-season" call-up got the most hype.    Mauer made the team out of spring training, thus eliminating him from the discussion.

Not quite the same comparison, but I remember the debut of Garza in '06 being a pretty big deal. He was drafted the year before, shot through the system and the Twins were desperate for starting pitching at the time to keep the amazing season going.

He got a great standing ovation and then responded with a pretty poor start.
