This is going to really hurt the Twins over the next few years.

 

Sano s/b your 1B right now, or soon. Vargas or Arcia or someone else should be your DH right now, or soon. In the mean time, you are stuck with a guy that I don't think they'll ever be brave enough to bench. He either retires, or they play a man short in the lineup. If only they had moved him off catcher sooner.....if only that had been an option.

I saw this thread and looked up Joe's numbers and I had no idea how bad he was doing compared to the league.  He is currently ranked 25th out of 27 in OPS by a 1B with guys like Howard and Pujols ahead of him.  Somehow Joe is always given a pass in the albatross contract lists but those guys get called out and they are outperforming him this year.

 

If you go back to his position of catcher his .683 OPS would rank him 17th among catchers making him average to below average at his original position:
