wavedog Verified Member Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Can't get much better than a 13-0 win tonight! I have seen the topic of pitch-framing discussed on the forum from time to time so I thought this article would be of interest on Yadier Molina: http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/yadier-molina-forgot-how-to-frame-a-pitch/ Yadier has dropped from near the top of pitch framing in 2013 to near the bottom so far this year - updated 2015 ranking below http://www.baseballprospectus.com/sortable/index.php?cid=1819124 I was pleasantly surprised to see Suzuki at 18th currently whereas he ranked next to last in 2014. Obviously we are only early in the year so this big swing from Molina and Suzuki may likely be due to a small sample size but this bears watching throughout the year to see if ytd results stay the same or if they move back to their historic norms. I think we have seen catchers stay fairly consistent in the rankings - Molina was always in the top 10 and Suzuki has been near the bottom of the rankings when I looked back to 2010.
