Zack Jones was taken in the 4th round of the 2012 MLB Draft out of San Jose State. He started out at Elizabethton, but was soon promoted to Beloit where he dominated hitters, striking out 15.30 per nine.

In 2013 he pitched the whole year at Fort Myers, where he had a 1.85 ERA in 48.2 innings, while striking out 70 and holding hitters to a .172 average with 14 saves. He pitched in the Arizona Fall League to wrap up his season.

In 2014 he was slowed by a blood clot, but came back late in the year to close for the Miracle; he won the Florida State League championship. He once again pitched in the AFL.

Jones will hit triple digits with his fastball and has a slider that has the potential to be a power pitch; there has been some talk of adding a cutter, according to mlb.com.

He is on the fast track to the majors and could be up by September. If all pans out he should be part of a bullpen that could be one of the best ever.

Jones is back dominating in A+ ball. I cannot believe how bad things got for him at the end of June. He could be with the Twins right now if he had continued to excel in AA.

Along with 2 or 3 other relievers.

Jones was good to start the season, but fell apart later on and was demoted, yet he did return to his dominant ways at the end of the year, making it very likely that he will be added to the 40 man roster this offseason.
