It just ended and it got me thinking how much more realistic it would be if instead of a bang-bang play at both first base and home and an immediate celebration if the Yankees decided to challenge both calls and we could sit around for 2 minutes wondering what happened while Joe Buck dissected everything in a monotone voice.

Movie producers understand something that Fox/MLB hasn't figured out yet - no one in their right mind would voluntarily watch something with Joe Buck announcing.  That same alternate scene you mention with challenges and Vin Scully working the broadcast booth during the review - sign me up 10 times out of 10.
