Doumit had a calf cramp tonight.

 

Capps sore arm and was not going to pitch tonight, according to Gardenhire.

 

Blackburn's thigh is hurting and sounds like he might end up on the DL.

 

Gardy mentioned an MRI for someone but I missed who it was. Anyone else catch it?

I was only half watching, but I thought he said Doumit popped his calf, was going to need an MRI, and was probably headed to the DL. I hope I heard wrong. That would be a big loss to this lineup. Of course Blackburn probably is too, It seems to be the same with him every year, he pitches awful for a month and then decides he has a aore arm. Glad we're paying $4.5M for him this year and next. Great decision to give him that long term deal.

Yes, Doumit to the DL with a "pop" of some sort in his calf. Revere being recalled. Doumit hurt himself jumping up to celebrate Duensing's strikeout in the 7th, apparently.

If that's true, that doesn't say much about his conditioning and stretching.

Twins placed C Ryan Doumit on the 15-day disabled list with a right calf strain.

 

Douit suffered the injury during Wednesday's victory over the Tigers. He is likely to need around three weeks of recovery time, meaning Drew Butera should be much more active than usual for the rest of May. Doumit is batting .264/.328/.445 with five home runs and 24 RBI in 33 games this year.

Really? That's what we're complaining about now? This season is sad.

Last year injury communication was an issue and definitely shaped the way fans perceived players (the entire bilateral leg weakness). I actually did find it odd that Gardenhire was making injury reports and then unsurprised to hear they were wrong. It's not a huge deal, but it does show just how far some of the issues with this organization run. (Though, interestingly, Doumit was highly concerned and hadn't directly heard he was on the DL, according to Joe C's article. So this kind of thing does affect players.)

The good news...for now...is that Morneau looked healthy and like he was trying to murder the ball Wednesday. And he just homered back-to-back with Plouffe on Thursday!

He strained a muscle. They've even said which one. Is that really a mystery injury?
