Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2014 Author Posted April 19, 2014 Great report on Meyer and bacon on a baseball uniform must be an awful experience for any player. I guess bacon is really big for some reason and they are making a killing selling hats...
Ncgo4 Verified Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Thanks, great report. How long before the twins call him up? Personally, I don't see any reason to rush him. However, I expect the Twins have a different idea. They are likely to be desperate to have some reason for fans to fill the seats. Starting pitching has been terrible, but pitching in 40 degree weather is a tough standard.

Starting pitching has been terrible, but pitching in 40 degree weather is a tough standard. This would have been the case 20 years ago but now money is a big decision maker. The Twins will keep Meyer down until July to avoid super 2 arb. Additionally the Twins have 4 high paid veteran pitchers and Gibson that will get an excessive number of chances. And Deduno will likely get the first shot at starting in the case of an injury or ineffectiveness.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2014 Author Posted April 19, 2014 Thanks, great report. How long before the twins call him up? . He is not on the 40 man roster (I know that it can be remedied because there is Bartlett's opening and people like Fryer and Raley that can get off it any time). I suspect that he will not get to the majors, unless there is an injury or someone (Correia) gets traded. To note: He will probably be limited in total innings this season, so (even if added to the 40-man) will likely not be a September call up. As I noted in the writeup, he takes extra care of the shoulder before the game...
Linus Verified Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Good point on the potential innings limit. I was hopeful that he would get a look this year but that is probably unlikely.
