Molitor pushes all RIGHT buttons in walk off win

Twins Video

What a brilliantly managed game! Irvin solid, Hildenberger ok, but gives up tying home run. I was surprised Molly went to Buse at that juncture, but Al was up to it and pitched very well. Then Molly brings in Belisle and he pitches well, leaves him for another innning..and voila Rosario!

So criticize all you want but our manager had close to a perfect game this night!

It started with skipping Slegers. He was listed as the probable pitcher a couple days ago. If he had started Twins probably lose.

Well luckily Rosario hit it over the fence, instead of off it, or else Mauer would still be standing on third. Some would have considered a PR appropriate with two out. :)

Yeah, except for all the bunting that prevented us from scoring more runs much earlier in the game.

I thought about that but I'd rather leave Mauer in just in case it goes on. That Padres team is terrible so even if you don't score, they probably won't. Mauer is hitting over .400 in September, you can't pull that bat. With two outs, he scores on most doubles.

If Rosario had walked, I can see it more. Granite scores on any single from 2B.

Well, it didn't necessarily prevent us from scoring runs, who knows if we would have. It certainly didn't help.

The bunting, the freaking bunting.

too much bunting.

I can only think of one scenario I would sacrifice bunt.  Runner on 2nd, 0 outs, Tie game or down 1 run, 9th inning or beyond.
