Three out of four ain't bad. I just don't agree with the Hughes trade. For one, other teams might not be convinced that he fits for them. Second, I can't imagine the Twins wanting to trade their best pitcher. Let's hope to get a mid-tier prospect from Correia. Suzuki, Willingham, Morales, Duensing, and Fien are all great trade-bait.

Hughes is someone we could have WITH Meyer, May, and Gibson on the next World Series team...with them you could be throwing Nolasco out there as the fifth man with his eternal contract

I would actually like to keep Suzuki and Hughes and extend Suzuki's contract for another year or two. As much as I like Duensing (being a fellow Husker and all) I think that they should look at dealing him if they fall out of contention as well.

Like most of the ideas except Hughes, maybe you group Correria with another bat. Twins need to open spots in their rotation and this would be a way to do it.

Also what about Nolasco to an NL team who could use him and take back some more prospects.

I disagree completely with this article. Trading Hughes, who is the Twins best SP for a prospect that may never see the Show is insane. Trading Suzuki when Pinto is not ready is also unwise. Kurt has shown he is a leader and a money player. Those guys are rare.

Trading the Hammer when he has such a good contract is iffy. With Plouffe out we need a RH power hitter. Plus he is motivated and hitting well. The Twins need to trim dead wood and bring up young arms. Burton and Corria must go, even if DFA. Sammy to the pen. Pino and May come up. Dozier is a long term answer at 2B or maybe SS. Plouffe will replace Hammer when Sano is ready.

The Twins are losing contact by caring more about control and time in service for later than they are about winning now. In my mind, they have squandered away a chance to contend. They should play to win each game, not trot out a guy that is going to get hammered just because he is under contract and pitches a lot of innings. A lot of bad innings is no way to win. Rickey is a #4 starter at this point. The rotation should be Hughes, Gibby, May, Pino and Nolasco

Interesting that you mention Hughes. I have put thought into this possibility, but I don't see it happening. He has been our best pitcher, which maybe gives us all the more reason to deal him. But Terry Ryan has a history of reluctance at the deadline, so don't count on it. As for Willingham, I made a post yesterday of teams that may have interest in him. I believe that there are seveal teams that would like to have him, but not at a high price, as he has missed a lot of time due to injury. As for Kurt, I also see Texas as a good fit, as he would be an upgrade from Chirinos and Giminez. Suzuki should be traded, but again, Terry Ryan has not been very active recently and Gardy seems to have a "man thing" for Kurt, so I would not count on it. Morales would not garner much of anything unless he stars to run into some homers soon, as that is his game.

Willingham and Suzuki to Baltimore MIGHT be able to convince them to trade Dylan Bundy to us.
