Original post from North Dakota Twins Fan ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The first week of Twins baseball has not been perfect by any means but the team has shown signs of life in the last couple of days. Those games were against two very good pitchers from the Angels, Jared Weaver and Dan Haren, so the team might be moving in the right direction. In a rare occurrence on Thursday afternoon, Joe Mauer hit a home run at Target Field for only the second time since the stadium opened in 2010. Besides glimmers of h
Josh Willingham has had his struggles playing the outfield this year. But there's no doubt he's starting the season fast. Six games. Four homers. Seven RBIs.* IF he were somehow able to keep that pace up for the whole season, he would have 108 homeruns and 189 RBIs.* I believe his defense will improve. He might have to move to right field at Target Field, but Praise the Lord he's hitting the ball hard and well. Keep it up!!!
Originally posted at k-bro's baseball blog The Twins have completed two series now, and after completely embarrassing themselves from the gate, they've rallied to make their record somewhat more respectable. I'm going to ignore the Orioles series because, frankly, I was unable to pay a lot of attention to it. I had to watch the three games in bits-and-pieces. Apparently, I didn't miss much. I was lucky enough to attend the Twins home opener. I was happy to be back at Target Field
Another great rally from the Parent team to win their 2nd in a row, and climb OUT of last place! Minor league teams went 2 and 2 tonight. Although Aaron Hicks didn't make my MVP for the Rock Cats tonight (Deibinson Romero hit to home runs today) he hits another Home Run and Double. This was is a very important year from him, and though it's still early, he's proving he remains a top prospect and should remain on everyone's radar. Here's today's day breakdown: [TABLE=width: 850] [TD=clas
Let's cut to the chase - Jim Bowden is an arrogant, self obsessed ball bag that has no business working in Major league baseball, let alone on a major sports reporting network. We should not have to hear or read his opinions on the Twin's situation or any other ball club. He is an opportunist who has taken advantage of 3rd world country baseball talents and looking back at his past photos from the early-mid 1990's, he dresses like a wanna be 1980's Jet-Set Millionaire (which he most probably is)

Last year's rank: 8 Acquired: Signed out of Mocha, Dominican Republic in December 2007. What would you say if I told you the Twins had a prospect that has a 2.76 ERA, strikes out 7.1/9 and only walks 1.5/9? He's a pitcher that gives up less than a hit per
Did you wonder when is the Birthday of your favorite player in the Twins' Organization? Did you know that Brian Dozier and Justin Morneau shared Birthdays? So do Chris Parmelee and Nick Blackburn. And the NewBritain clubhouse will have a lot of fun on August 20th, the shared birthday of both their pitching and hitting coaches (Bobby Cuellar and Tom Brunansky). And do you know the most popular day as far as Twins' organization players and staff birthdays go? It is November 24th when 6 member

Found that interesting. I think he needs as much time at second as possible, but I know the Snappers want his bat in the game and probably needed to get a couple of the other infielders some work. Hope this won't be a ongoing thing as CF is not a issue in the Twins system right now.
Originally posted at http://twins-extcs.blogspot.com/ --- Well, the first week of the season didn’t go the way Twins fans were hoping, but many ex-Twins enjoyed success with their current clubs. Time for some quick tidbits from week 1. Kyle Lohse dominates in opener. If my post on Lohse starting openers last week hinted that the honor was undeserved, Kyle did a great job to prove me wrong. He had great stuff in the opener, shutting down a Marlins team that was excited to show off their new d
Feels good to get that first win under our belt. Solid outing for the Twins. It wasn't perfect, but we all know this isn't a team that going to be perfect. Pavano was good, but not great. Worst inning for him was the 5th when Bourjos got the inside-the-park home run. Willingham couldn't make the play. His defense isn't the best, and Revere might have made that catch. If Willingham continues to crush the ball, missing a catch or two doesn't matter. Huge games for Carroll and Parmelee. I saw o
Original post from North Dakota Twins Fan ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fans of the Twins are well aware of the slow start the club has gotten off to at the start the 2012 season. It seems that a segment of the fan base is worried that the Twins are falling back into the same patterns that lead to a 99-loss season in 2011. Scott Baker and Liam Hendriks have already been forced to the sidelines with injuries, there are still question marks in the bullpen, and the offense has struggled mightily at the plate. Th
The Twins won their first game of the season last night as their bats defeated Jared Weaver, the Los Angeles Angels, and the Twins own defense by a score of 6-5. It was a victory not just for the players on the field, but for the front office and coaching staff, as it finally validated decisions they had made throughout the offseason and spring training. Those decisions, contrary to the popular view of the Twins as a fundamentally sound team, have emphasized scoring runs over solid baseball. T
Twins get their first MLB win, overall a 4-1 day. Please note, I am NOT trying to step on Seth's toes at all by the day-by-days, he adds good narrative, and he knows a HELLUVA lot more than I, or anyone not employed by the Twins do about the Minor League. This blog is meant just to be used as a nice snapshot of the system on a day-by-day basis (see what I did there?). So use them as you will, I plan on adding stats starting next week, but rely on Seth for his knowledge and recaps! [TABLE=widt
Whew... glad to get that out of the way. This is how the Twin's are going to have to perform to win games. We will need to score 5+ runs for the most part to win a game, but at least Carl gave us some innings. The inside job by Bourjos was a knee to the nuggets, but what the heck, it all worked out. Kudos to Willingham and Parmelee for their big hits. I have been an opponent of the Willingham signing, not because I don't like him or his contract, but more so for philosophical reasons on how I th

This is bad news, make no mistake. When he's
this post was originally posted at http://troystwinsdugout.wordpress.com/2012/04/11/twins-need-to-look-themselves-in-the-mirror/ The Twins haven't done well to start the season. They're 0-4 after losing three straight to The Baltomore Orioles and the home opener against the Angels, scoring only 6 runs compared with 20 runs allowed. Now that they've had an off day to assess where they're at, I think it will be interesting to find out how they will respond. Granted, the Twins haven't made a
Per La Velle. http://www.startribune.com/sports/twins/blogs/147047085.html This doesn't sound good. I'll hope for the best, but it's tough to imagine a press conference with Terry Ryan sitting next to Baker, and Baker saying "I'm 100% ready for action!"
Here's my first shot at this. I'm assuming no one will see it, but if you do, Thanks....and sorry. I was going to post something earlier with predictions and such but then remembered I hate predictions and such. So I decided to give it a few games before I chimed in. I have to go at this from the only perspective I have, from the view of a fan 4 hours away. So far its pretty simple: This is bad. It hurts to watch on TV. I half expect Bert to jump from the booth to his werciful demise. It hurt
The Saints were down 5-1 in the 7th inning. Culpepper hit a 3-run HR (his 8th HR of the season). In the 9th inning, down one run with 2 outs and 2 strikes, KC singled in the game-tying run.
I am not a follower of Donald Trump. I have participated in several no kings rallies and am disgusted with what he and his followers have done to our country and the world. I would like to know what most Brazilians feel about the United States now and about the folks our citizens have elected to represent us.
